10. Chapter 10
In the cold early spring morning, water was still dripping outside, and the villagers had nothing to do and waited until dawn before getting up to cook.
Li's first rise was to bring firewood to cook porridge.
Firewood is the corn pole of last year. One long piece is folded into several sections, crackling.
Ningxiang, who was sleeping soundly, did not hear it, and lived again, and saw her lost brother. She slept extremely peacefully that night. It was the first time she had been lazy after becoming a maid.
But Amu heard it, the boy yawned, slowly opened his eyes, and saw the back of his sister's head.
My sister slept with her back to him, and her long black hair was a little messy. Last night, he accidentally pressed her on her hair and hurt her.
Amu blinked his eyes and woke up completely. He moved his sister's hair one by one, moving carefully.
Suddenly, the second sister's confusion voice came from the kitchen, "Sister isn't awake yet?"
The aunt replied immediately, "You must be tired. You should wash your face first. Don't speak loudly. The western pot of water is ready."
Then the kitchen was filled with only the sound of tear breaking in the firewood.
Amuben wanted to come over to see if his sister was awake. When his aunt said that his sister was tired, he didn't dare to move, for fear that he would wake up his sister. But when he heard the sound of his second sister washing her face and splashing water outside, Amu suddenly wanted to swear.
He tried hard to hold it in, and gradually couldn't help it.
Amu felt uncomfortable. Looking at his sister who had not yet moved, he crawled out of the quilt bit by bit, tremblingly and turned over the cotton clothes under the quilt. Finally, he pulled it out hard, but when he was wearing cotton pants, he accidentally fell down and fell on his sister.
Ningxiang finally woke up. Seeing that the room was bright and her younger brother was dressed. She realized that she had slept in and quickly sat up and helped her younger brother wear it first.
"Did sister do a lot of work in the Hou Mansion?" Amu stared at her sister's red and beautiful face and asked in a low voice.
Ningxiang laughed and asked him to stand up. She put on a cotton jacket for him, "Why do you ask like that?"
Amu said obediently: "My aunt said you are tired."
Ningxiang laughed and said softly: "I'm not tired. My sister hasn't hugged Amu for a long time. She slept soundly when she hugged Amu, so she got up late."
"Then I'll sleep with my sister tonight!" My sister likes to hug him, and Amu said excitedly.
Ningxiang patted the little guy's butt and asked him to swear quickly, without reminding his brother that she would leave in a while.
She put on her clothes and folded her quilts, and the house was clean and there was nothing she needed to clean up. Ningxiang took the curtain and walked out. She saw that Li had already scooped the cooked porridge into the basin. Xu Qiuer was placing the bowls and chopsticks. Ningxiang was embarrassed and said with a blushing face: "I'm getting up late..."
"What are you doing when I get up so early? I don't need your help. Go and wash your face quickly and have dinner soon." Li said indifferently.
Xu Qiuer looked at Ningxiang's long hair with envy, "Sister's hair is so good."
Ningxiang smiled and took water to her brother to wash her face outside.
After packing up, the whole family sat around the low table to eat. The rice was very simple, with sticky corn porridge, two leftover cakes and a small piece of salted tofu as a dish. Li prepared a salted egg for the three young people.
Mrs. Li looked at her niece and complained in a low voice: "It's rare to stay at home for one night, and you can stay for a long time, but it's like the Liu family collecting debts."
However, it took half a day to get to Fucheng from Liuxi Village. Ningzhu went back by herself and just left after lunch. But today Liu Quan followed her into the city and had to come back after getting the land deed. As soon as he went, Liu Quan wanted to leave immediately after breakfast, so he would not go home in the dark.
Knowing that the eldest aunt couldn't bear to leave her, Ningxiang smiled and said, "It's okay, it's okay next time I come back."
Amu heard something was wrong and raised his head in confusion.
"Can Amu peel eggs?" Ningxiang deliberately changed the topic because her brother was afraid that she would delay her meal by crying.
Amu's attention suddenly returned to the egg, nodded, and carefully peeled the egg for his sister to show it.
Ningxiang stared at her brother's every move almost greedily. Her brother couldn't bear to leave her, and she couldn't bear to leave the little guy either.
However, no matter how reluctant you are, you still have to leave.
Ningxiang had just helped Li clean up the kitchen, and Liu Quan came at the door. Xu Shouliang went over to talk to him first, and then stood outside the door.
Ningxiang squatted in front of Amu, touched the boy's head and said, "Sister is gone, I will buy chestnuts for Amu when I come back next time."
Only then did Amu remember that his sister was going to return to the Hou Mansion to do work.
The little guy's eyes suddenly turned red and he threw himself into his sister's arms and refused to let her go.
Almost every time she parted, Ningxiang felt uncomfortable, but she didn't want to lie and say that she would come back soon, and let her brother wait at home for nothing. Fortunately, Amu was very sensible, although she was reluctant to leave, and did not bother her sister for too long after being persuaded by Li's mother and daughter. She held her hand and sent her to the gate, and then watched her get on the donkey cart in the Liu family.
Sitting in the car, Ningxiang tried hard to smile at her brother, until the donkey cart left, she quietly wiped her tears.
Xu Shouliang also came along and whispered to comfort his niece.
Ningxiang nodded, but was actually used to it, so she talked about what to plant in the spring field and where to buy seeds.
When the donkey cart passed by Baihe Town, Ningxiang went to Mama Li's house and asked her if she wanted to have the same car. Mama Li wanted to stay with her family more, and smiled and asked her to leave first. After that, the donkey cart never stopped and headed towards the southern Chaofucheng.
After entering the city, Ningxiang led the way, and finally Liu Quan parked the donkey cart outside the corner gate of the Zhenyuan Marquis Mansion.
"Uncle, please wait a moment, I will come out soon." Ningxiang got out of the car and said goodbye to the elders, and then quickly walked into the Marquis' Mansion.
When she got to Lengmei Pavilion, she walked into the yard. When she stepped into the yard, Ningxiang thought she had to go to the room and say hello to Pei Jinghan first. Because she was distracted, she walked a few steps inside before she could catch a glimpse of someone under the plum tree. She looked over curiously and saw Pei Jinghan standing under the plum tree in a moon-white brocade robe. Su Yue stood beside him with a tray in her pink jacket, tall and slender. She raised her head slightly and listened to Pei Jinghan's words, smiling at the corners of her lips.
The plum blossoms on the branches are about to bloom, and a pair of beautiful girls under the tree whisper softly, as if they are picturesque.
Ningxiang was stunned for a moment, instinctively trying to avoid it, just like when Su Yue and Pei Jinghan were alone in the previous life, but after taking a step back, the resentful eyes of Su Yue on the boat talking about Pei Jinghan appeared in her mind.
Just as she was hesitating, Pei Jinghan felt something and turned around and looked over. Seeing Ningxiang looking at him and Su Yue with a complicated face, Pei Jinghan was uncontrollably annoyed at first, and the annoyed girl would probably taste it, but then she became calm again and was a little excited.
He knew that Ningxiang had him in his heart, and the little girl was just a thin-skinned person.
"Why did you come back so early?" Pei Jinghan still stood under the plum tree and asked Ningxiang with a smile. He was destined to be alone in only one woman. They had to get used to such jealous things and learn to relieve themselves. He didn't have the energy to coax them one by one.
The uncle and the others were still waiting for her outside. Ningxiang temporarily suppressed her feelings and stepped forward to explain.
Pei Jinghan nodded and took two steps towards her, "How much money is there?"
Ningxiang knew what he was thinking when he heard his tone, and forced a smile, "Not many, I have it there, so the prince will continue to appreciate the flowers, I'll leave first." Afraid that Pei Jinghan insisted on paying for her, Ningxiang walked towards the ear room as if she ran away.
Pei Jinghan looked at the little girl's slim back and asked Su Yue to shout Changshun.
So Ningxiang counted the silver from the piggy bank and walked out, and saw that there was a Changshun in the yard.
Pei Jinghan explained in time: "Let Changshun accompany you, the people in the yamen know him, and you will come back early as possible."
How could the average master be so kind to the maid? Ningxiang was afraid that his uncle would misunderstand and immediately refused. However, Pei Jinghan also knew her and turned around before she spoke, clearly not giving her the chance to refuse.
He acted as a domineering person, so Ningxiang had to beg Changshun on the way out of the mansion, "When I see my uncle, I will say that the prince has something to do to ask you to go to the yamen, is that okay?" Both of them worked with Pei Jinghan, and they often deal with each other, so their relationship was close.
Changshun looked at her in confusion, "It is honor for the prince to support you, why do you look like you are too far away?"
Ningxiang lowered her eyes and pursed her lips.
She looked particularly pitiful when she did this action. Changshun couldn't do anything to her, so she said helplessly: "Okay, okay, whatever you say is what you say."
Ningxiang was overjoyed and thanked him happily.
The little girl smiled like a crabapple, her bright eyes and white teeth were shaking Changshun's light steps, but when she remembered the prince's thoughts about Ningxiang Suyue, Changshun touched her nose in disappointment and forced herself to look elsewhere. No matter how good it is, he is not qualified to think about it.
When he arrived at the corner gate, Xu Shouliang looked at the man dressed up by the servant beside his niece in confusion.
Changshun cleverly found an excuse.
Xu Shouliang had no doubts, and the four of them went to the yamen without stopping. The Zhenyuan Marquis' Mansion came forward, and the land deed was handled very neatly.
Ningxiang wanted to send Xu Shouliang to the city gate, but Xu Shouliang did not let him go and asked his niece to take good care of him. He and Liu Quan rushed back.
The two-day vacation disappeared in a blink of an eye, and Ningxiang was a little disappointed.
Seeing that she was not energetic, Changshun deliberately asked her what she had done at home. The two of them chatted all the way. When they returned to Lengmei Pavilion, Ningxiang had calmed down and became the eldest maid of Lengmei Pavilion.
In the afternoon, Pei Jinghan ordered her to come and serve Su Yue, and let Su Yue rest for half a day.
Ningxiang couldn't refuse and shouldn't refuse. Su Yue had to serve Pei Jinghan and take care of her sick, so she really deserved to rest.
"Does Amu like that wood carving?" In the study, Pei Jinghan was standing at the desk to make a painting. When he saw her coming in, he glanced at him and his eyes quickly returned to the drawing paper, asking as he was chatting while outlining the brush.
"I like it very much, thank you for yourselves." Ningxiang replied as naturally as possible, secretly telling herself that she should treat him as her master and that she no longer has to think about the things she had in her previous life. Most of the time, Pei Jinghan is very gentlemanly, and he will touch her only after drinking or encountering unpleasant things.
"Well, grind the ink for me." After saying this, Pei Jinghan was no longer distracted.
Ningxiang walked to the desk, moved the inkstone to his side, picked up the ink pen and grind it gently. The ink fragrance was elegant, and strands floated into his nose, and in his ear was the subtle sound of the pen wandering on the drawing paper in his hand. Immersed in this timeless and quiet atmosphere, Ningxiang couldn't help but glance at the drawing paper.
He drew the plum tree in the corner of the wall. There were no one under the tree. There were three birds lying on the budding branches. The middle was obviously two circles larger, and the two next to it... I wonder if I was thinking too much, Ningxiang always felt that the bird on the left was slightly raised, just like Pixel Moon, and on the right...
Who has a pair of almond eyes?
Ningxiang was no longer interested in watching it, and her red lips unconsciously pursed, unhappy, but beautiful and vivid.
