Chapter Eleven When People Are Powerless
The sunset in Beckland seemed to have a very illusory smell in the thick fog that seemed to never disappear.
Lu Yuansumei and Mari were waiting outside the door for a whole hour.
Maybe it's actually less than an hour.
Anyway, when the door was opened again, the three of them saw Cynthia walking out with a tired look on their faces.
When Su Mei tried to support Cynthia, Cynthia almost fell on Su Mei.
"What happened?" Su Mei asked quickly.
"Nothing, I just feel a little bit of exhaustion." Cynthia said softly.
While saying this, Mary pursed her lips and said nothing.
Cynthia looked at Mary and whispered: "Little Mary, come here."
When Mary walked up to Cynthia, Cynthia stretched out her little finger: "Come on, pull down the hook."
Mary and Cynthia pulled Lagou, and Cynthia continued: "It's really hard for your mother to take care of you for so many years. You must treat her well in the future."
"Hmm?" Mary looked at Cynthia, not understanding what Cynthia meant for a moment.
"I mean." Cynthia smiled weakly: "Your mom is fine."
Mary screamed and rushed into the house. Then Mary's somewhat depressed cry came from the house, and then the comforting voice of a middle-aged woman.
"You really cured Mary's mother?" Lu Yuan asked as he looked at Cynthia.
Cynthia nodded slightly without comment, but said nothing.
"I'm a little sleepy, can I send me back?" Cynthia didn't seem to want to talk about this topic.
"Okay, thank you really for Miss Cynthia." Lu Yuan nodded and said, "I just don't know where to send you back? Is the potion shop OK?"
Cynthia shook her head: "Send me back to the dormitory of Nightingale School. I will take a boat to the Kingdom of Miracle tomorrow."
"Is it tomorrow? So early?" Lu Yuan said in surprise.
"Yes, tomorrow, after all, the nurse school course has already ended and I need to go for an internship." Cynthia said with a smile: "It is because of this that my relationship with my family is so bad now."
"Although my father has said it many times and no longer recognizes me as his daughter, I know." Cynthia's eyes were crescent, but Lu Yuan could hear a slight bitterness in her voice: "Actually he still likes me."
"Yeah." Lu Yuan didn't know how to answer this question, so he could only say vaguely.
Nightingale Nursing School was a little far away, and it took almost an hour to send Cynthia. It was almost dark at this time, but there were gas street lights in the streets of Beckland at night, so it did not affect the driving of the public carriage.
While Lu Yuan and Su Mei were about to say goodbye to Cynthia, Cynthia suddenly said, "By the way, Mr. Lu Yuan."
"Is there anything?" Lu Yuan asked.
"I want to ask you a question." Cynthia looked at the road far away in the fog, and the dim light of the gas street lights faintly casts the shadows of two people.
"What's the problem?" Lu Yuan asked.
"You said." Cynthia looked at Lu Yuan: "If this world is powerless."
“Can we beg God’s help?”
Cynthia said.
God?
Does it mean Jesus Christ?
Lu Yuan thought for a while, then nodded: "After all, human power has its limits."
Cynthia bowed solemnly to Lu Yuan: "Thank you Mr. Lu Yuan for your teachings."
As he said this, before he could react, Cynthia turned around and ran into the school by herself.
Lu Yuan and Su Mei stood in the mist, and Su Mei spoke, "I feel that something is wrong with Miss Cynthia."
"I feel this way, too." Lu Yuan said: "But, I can't tell what's wrong."
"But no matter what, we are going back, otherwise Miss Ke Yao will worry about us."
As he said this, the two returned to the carriage.
...
...
In the carriage driving, Su Mei smelled the residual smell in the carriage and said, "The road is long, do you know what is the way to cure a patient with tuberculosis in an hour?"
"It may not be really healed." Lu Yuan said: "Maybe Miss Cynthia just comforted Mary. After all, if Mary really loses her mother, I don't know what kind of sadness will be like."
"Maybe it just a simple comfort."
"Maybe." Su Mei said softly: "But I always feel like it is Mary's mother, and tuberculosis has been really cured."
"I hope so too." Lu Yuan said, "But how did Miss Cynthia do what she said?"
When he said this, Lu Yuan always appeared in front of Lu Yuan's eyes that Cynthia had just asked Lu Yuan.
"If this world is powerless."
“Can we beg God’s help?”
"By the way." Lu Yuan suddenly said.
"Hmm?" Su Mei nodded.
"Do you remember what the gray cloth bag Cynthia brought out from home contains?" Lu Yuan asked.
"Miss Cynthia never let us see it." Su Mei said, "But she didn't seem to say that it was not important and valuable things inside, otherwise her father wouldn't allow her to bring those things out."
As she said this, Su Mei continued: "However, when I sat with Miss Cynthia, I vaguely smelled the smell of this cloth bag, which seemed to be some flower essential oils. The pharmacy shop does sell these things."
"But can the essential oil of flowers treat tuberculosis?" Lu Yuan asked.
Su Mei shook her head: "It's obvious that I can't."
As she said this, Su Mei continued, "But, it's better if we don't think about this question, right?"
"After all, we have just arrived in this world and have nothing to figure out."
"And, at least one thing we know."
Lu Yuan looked at Su Mei: "What is it?"
"Miss Cynthia is a good person, right?" Su Mei said sincerely: "Actually, we are quite lucky. After coming to this world, we meet basically all very good people. Whether it is Cynthia, Ke Yao, Mary, or even the Viscountess herself, we cannot say that they are bad people, or that they are essentially kind people."
Lu Yuan was silent for a moment, then nodded: "Yes."
"But even so." Lu Yuan looked at Su Mei: "Cynthia still feels."
"This world is sick."
