Chapter 6 Beating

This battle took place in the arms race between Europe, Spain, England, France and the Netherlands. Fu Yuan was a direct participant among the generals of the Ming army.

During his time as he was stationed in Lisbon, he saw seven Spanish warships worth more than one hundred tons launched.

The intelligence shared with Philip's court made him know that among the three hostile countries, more than twenty-four smaller warships were built with overtime work.

It made him a little impatient.

But compared to the naval battle that was ready to go, the land battle that had already begun to fight was worthy of his attention.

Chen Jiujing sent a message from Baishan City that he sent Yuan Zizhang's troops to explore the way might be besieged by the enemy. When he saw this letter, Chen Jiujing's troops stationed in Baishan City had sent reinforcements, hoping that he would send a batch of winter clothes and decent military tents from Lisbon to Baishan City as soon as possible.

The one who went to help was Kangguru, the general of Baishan Camp, who led his 1,800 Jurchen infantry and cavalry to cross the river and divided his troops one after another.

The cavalry of the front army opened the way with seven hundred people, and was called the Plate Armor Iron Pagoda.

One thousand four hundred Baishan archers with cotton coats and armor were used as the back formation, carrying 60 Spanish donkeys, escorting the baggage to the battlefield of the Klan River, and sending six urgently needed General Zhenshuo's artillery and sufficient ammunition to Yuan Zizhang.

Dingjiazhuang in Dinghai unknowingly became the second supply station for this battle. All soldiers who set out from Bordeaux would camp near Dingjiazhuang the next night, and the wounded soldiers on the front line also sent back a few.

In Ding Hai's eyes, the situation on the front line is not bad.

The troops sent hundreds of cavalry today and two hundred step archers tomorrow. The wounded soldiers came back in one go and disappeared in the future.

Three injured soldiers were affiliated with Xu Jinbiao, a hundred households, and were injured in an ambush at night. One of them blocked the mountain road and fell to his left arm, and the other had a healthy limbs but his eyes were burned when they were ignited by gunpowder in the baggage. After examination, the military doctor believed that the latter might have some impact on his vision after he was recuperating, and suggested that he return to Bordeaux for cultivation.

The last person was named Zhang Dachuan. He was injured by a musket. Lead balls rubbed his helmet and hit his forehead, embedded in his forehead bone. However, the man was as unscathed as a god. He just lay on the ground for a while. Then he got up and pinched the enemy who was trying to come to pick up the musket with his hands. Then he completed three loadings with a standard loading action, knocking down one enemy again. Finally, he rushed up with a bird gun and poked another enemy who could not hit to the ground. After doing all this, he fainted again.

After the battle, the military doctor took off the lead pill embedded in his forehead and examined him. He found that his forehead bone cracks were smooth and his body was not seriously injured. However, he could not recall the injury, and had continuous headaches, dizziness and vomiting, and strong tinnitus. He was helpless and suggested sending him back to Bordeaux for observation. If the injury worsened, Bordeaux's simple medical conditions could not be cured, he could only be sent back to Changsheng Military Hospital by boat.

In fact, he was the one with the best combat skills among the three wounded soldiers, so the guerrilla general Wang Youlin asked the three of them to form a team, with the blind little king carrying luggage, the broken hand Lao Zhou as the guide, and the dizzy man Zhang as the guard, and the dizzy man Zhang as the guard, heading towards Dingjiazhuang along the post station they set up when they set out. On the way, they also met seven defenders from Luocheng, pushing a small cart full of weapons, intending to sell it to Ding Hai for food.

The seven defenders of Luocheng who were hungry and cold, who were planning to sell arms, saw three Ming soldiers armed with cotton armor in the wilderness and carried food, and there were two wounded soldiers inside. What would happen?

Nothing can happen.

When Ding Hai, the owner of Dingjiazhuang, picked them up outside the village gate, the six Luocheng defenders who were pulling carts were so tired that they were even more exhausted than donkeys.

Their young guy was sitting in the car with his head in a row with the blind little king. Zhang Dachuan, who was supervising behind him, complained endlessly, saying that if Lao Zhou had not rushed up with his waist knife, he would have been able to rush up with a gun with a gun.

It was heartbreaking enough that the six living people were knocked over to the ground by a guard of a wounded guard, but it was not until Dingjiazhuang that they realized that the guard in their eyes was actually a wounded soldier.

Later, the six people almost cried and begged Ding Hai to take them in, and never returned to Luocheng without saying anything - kidding, the seven of them had not even fought a wounded soldier, what would it be like if they were not injured?

Can Luocheng, which is so close to the Cran River, still be preserved?

They even felt that only eighty soldiers like Zhang Dachuan were needed to capture Luocheng.

In any case, the owner of the village Ding was in a very happy mood. In order to avoid Luocheng no longer sending people to buy food in the future, he asked the translator to understand the six defenders with reason and affection, and finally persuaded them to go back.

Zhang Dachuan and the other two also believed that they would not use this batch of weapons. After jointly submitting a report on encountering the Luocheng defenders to Bordeaux, they left all the weapons and armor to Ding Hai.

In a daze, the landlords in Dingjiazhuang had already trained twelve breastplate shopkeepers holding Swiss halberds and thirty muskets.

With the forty kilograms of gunpowder that Chen Jiujing put out, Ding Hai finally felt that he had gained a foothold in this radius of twenty miles.

He even had the energy to discuss with seven or eight nearby Zhuangzi to convene tourists to practice the "big cause" of the militia.

On the morning of the siege and withdrawal on the Klan River, more than a hundred miles away, there was a rumbling sound on the river. Earl Charles could only watch the bridge that took several days to be built was blown up. The baggage was escorted south by four or five hundred Ming troops. Even so, he did not dare to lead his army down the mountain.

His troops were dragged down by the wounded soldiers, and the ambush at night brought him forty-four wounded soldiers. During the rescue the next morning, landmines and tiger squat cannons bombed from afar brought many casualties to his soldiers. In addition to these, there were also non-combat reductions caused by hunger and frostbite. More than 3,400 soldiers in the entire army had nearly a thousand wounded soldiers. In order to avoid being brutally annihilated, Earl Charles could only watch the Ming army transport the baggage away in a dignified manner.

I even felt a little happy in my heart - there was something that could effectively slow down the speed of the Ming army's marching.

The source of secret joy was the same as the reason why the Ming army removed the siege. Marshal Matiweng led reinforcements to appear on the east bank of the Klan River. Throughout the day, well-equipped knights rode across the tall war horses wearing horse armor and galloped across the other side of the high ground. The cold wind blew, and the spearhead straight towards the sky, hanging swallowtail flags and swaying straight backwards, without panic and full of threats.

Although the traces of the large army have not yet appeared, both sides of the besiege are known to French reinforcements nearby.

It may be ten miles, maybe closer.

There is only a Crane River between them.

On the day the bridge was blown up, Earl Charles saw the Ming army packing up truck after truck of supplies and walking out of the forest and placing it on the open space on the southern river bank, as if only waiting for the night to arrive.

The retreat of the Ming army is imperative.

It seems to be tonight.

The French army was in great spirits. People said that the long suffering had passed and the Ming army would be surrounded soon. Even the veterans injured in the previous battle clamored to participate in tonight's pursuit.

However, beyond the expectation of Earl Charles, he organized his army down the mountain that night, preparing to take advantage of the darkness to pursue the unfavorable retreat of the Ming army. As a result, he was greeted by the leisurely Ming army, who was struggling with muskets in the darkness, and beat his troops head-on.
