07. Bastard
After James left, O'Connor sat on the sofa and smiled bitterly and said to Wang Bo and his group: "Sorry, let you make a joke."
Jonathan asked inexplicably: "What the hell is going on?"
O'Connor said: "James is my wife's brother, but he is a bastard and a gambler. When I first saw this guy, he was planning to sell his sister to a gangster boss for a sum of money."
"What?" Jonathan grew up with a surprised mouth.
Karen smiled bitterly.
Alex grabbed his mother's hand and said nothing.
O'Connor continued: "I just separated from you not long ago. After seeing this scene, I taught James a lesson, saved Karen, and then we got to know each other, fell in love, and finally entered the palace of marriage."
"It wasn't long after the marriage that we had Alex."
"However, in the third year, James came to the door and begged to hope that we could save him. He owed a lot of debts outside. If we don't save him, he would be dumped by the debt collector."
Jonathan said, "You saved him."
O'Connor nodded and said, "Yes, we saved him. He is Karen's brother after all, so I took out a lot of money to help the guy pay off his debts. Then, he said he had no money, no house, and even no place to live, so we took him in."
When Jonathan heard this, he was about to say something, but suddenly Evelyn glared at him and shut his mouth decisively.
O'Connor continued: "In the first year, he was honest and found a job, worked very late every day, and seemed to have a repentance, and we gradually accepted him sincerely."
"But not long after, this guy started to relapse again, but this time he covered up very well, so we never noticed it. I thought he was working hard."
"But gradually, I discovered something, and my family always discarded a few things for no reason."
"At the beginning, we didn't care, but later, the wedding ring I bought for Karen also disappeared. So I became suspicious and set up a trap. Unexpectedly, this guy plunged in."
"Later we found out that he started gambling again. He began to cry and said that he was just a small gambling at the beginning, but he fell into it unknowingly. Karen and I were both very distressed when we knew about this, but we couldn't help this bastard endlessly. He was a bottomless pit."
"So Karen and I finally helped him pay off the debt outside, and gave him another sum of money and drove this guy out of the house. I think we've done enough."
Jonathan couldn't help but nodded, "Yes, you've done it well enough."
Evelyn also agreed, "If my brother was a gambler, maybe I would consider severing all relationships with him."
Jonathan couldn't help but say, "Although I know this is an assumption, it really makes me sad that you say that."
Evelyn sneered a few times.
Wang Bo said: "From your appearance, the story seems to be not over yet."
O'Connor nodded and said, "Yes, after we drove him away, this guy disappeared, but Alex was kidnapped half a month later."
"What?" Jonathan shouted. This turn was too abrupt.
O'Connor said: "The kidnappers asked us to hand over a huge ransom, but we didn't have the money because we had consumed a lot of money to help that bastard James pay off his debts. We couldn't get the ransom for the help. Of course, even if we had money, we wouldn't compromise with a group of kidnappers."
Speaking of this, O'Connor was full of energy, "So I could only take the risk and after a fight with the kidnappers, I knocked them down and saved Alex. Then I grabbed the kidnappers and began to ask them why they wanted to kidnap Alex. Only then did I know that the kidnappers were hired to kidnap Alex, and the mastermind behind them was James."
When Jonathan heard this, he couldn't help but curse, "I actually kidnapped my nephew. That guy is such a bastard."
"Yes, he's a complete bastard," said O'Connor. "When I settled Alex and wanted to settle the score with that guy, he wanted to escape, but I still caught him and beat him up, telling him that he would never be allowed to get close to my family."
Wang Bo said: "You should have hit that guy directly in the face instead of slapping him in the back."
O'Connor smiled bitterly, turned his head to look at his wife, "What did that bastard ask you for?"
Karen said: "He wants to borrow money from us."
"There is no door," O'Connor said.
Karen nodded and said, "I have rejected him."
When Wang Bo heard this, he couldn't help but squint his eyes because he knew that Karen was lying.
Just now, when Wang Bo came to the hotel, he heard a conversation between Karen and James. Karen hoped that James would help him get something, but James told Karen to add money.
So Karen scolded the other party and said you are such a bastard, and the two started arguing.
However, because this is a matter between them, Wang Bo does not intend to expose it.
Jonathan clapped his hands and said, "Okay, let's stop talking about these unhappy things. We should go back to the manor first and prepare a sumptuous dinner to welcome Wang Bo's back. What do you think of my proposal?"
O'Connor clapped his hands and said, "Of course."
Karen smiled slightly when he saw her husband agreeing, and nothing was involved.
Evelyn nodded as well, and everyone looked at Wang Bo at the same time.
Wang Bo casually opened a portal to the manor, "Please, please!"
Jonathan tidied up his clothes, strode in, then Evelyn, and then O'Connor walked in with his child and his incredible wife.
Wang Bo finally returned to the manor and closed the portal.
"Lina, we're back." Jonathan returned to the hall of the manor and shouted at the top of his voice.
The head maid hurriedly walked in after hearing the sound. Seeing a group of people appearing in the hall, her pupils slightly shrank. Because she saw the scene of Wang Bo and Jonathan leaving just now, she could accept their return.
"Welcome back, Master, Mr. Jonathan, Miss Evelyn, and several guests."
Jonathan said: "Lina, can I help us make some cups of tea and prepare a hearty dinner?"
Lina turned her head and looked at Wang Bo. She remembered that Wang Bo was the owner of this place.
Wang Bo smiled and said, "Don't listen to his nonsense, go and rest, Lina, just have us here."
He waved his hand and drove Lena away.
Jonathan said with a wry smile: "Even if you don't prepare dinner, at least a few cups of tea should be prepared."
