19. Scarab
Evelyn didn't say anything, found an ancient Egyptian mirror in the room, wiped off the dust, and pointed it at the sunlight that was shot in from the hole.
The mirror emitted a beam of light.
Evelyn slowly adjusted the angle of the beam and shone it onto another mirror.
In an instant, beams of light flowed back and forth, illuminating one mirror after another, and making the lights shining on the entire room brightly.
O'Connor couldn't help but exclaimed.
Evelyn said calmly: "This is just a little trick from ancient Egypt, it's nothing, but..."
She looked around and finally locked in Wang Bo with her eyes, "This place is really an anti-corrosion room. How did you know? Didn't you say that you have never been here before?"
Wang Bo said calmly: "Yes, I really haven't been here."
"How did you know this is a corrosion room?" O'Connor asked.
"I just know." Wang Bo said calmly. "But this is my secret. I don't want anyone to chase my secret."
O'Connor glanced at him and didn't say anything. Since the other party said that, he was embarrassed to pursue it.
Evelyn withdrew her gaze and changed the subject, "Okay, this is your secret. We won't pursue it. Can we go to other places to take a look?"
O'Connor nodded, and everyone took out the prepared torches, lit them, and advanced directly below the Anubis sculpture.
However, as everyone walked through a narrow underground corridor, they suddenly heard a slight commotion.
It seemed as if something had passed through their underground.
This sound seems light, but it gives people a creepy feeling.
For a moment, everyone tensed up their nerves at the same time.
Evelyn asked with lingering fear: "What is this?"
O'Connor frowned, "It seems to be some kind of...the sound of a bug? What do you think?" He was not sure, and turned his head to look at Wang Bo. He always felt that Wang Bo would know.
Wang Bo held the torch tightly, nodded and said, "It's indeed a bug, and it's some kind of very powerful bug."
"Word?" Evelyn said: "This ancient city has been sleeping for more than three thousand years, so how can there be bugs?"
"Why can't there be bugs?" Wang Bo asked back, "and I believe, Princess, you should know what this bug is."
Evelyn was stunned and thought about it randomly, the ancient tomb, underground, insects, and her knowledge was easy to find out.
"You mean, scarab!" For a moment, Evelyn got goosebumps all over her body.
"That's right."
To be honest, Wang Bo hates insects too. If he hadn't wanted to find the Black Sutra of the Undead, he would really not want to enter such a place. When he was on it just now, Wang Bo felt this ubiquitous yin energy.
Now that he entered the ground, Wang Bo felt numb all over, and the terrifying yin energy almost hit him.
Ordinary people don’t feel it, but Wang Bo is different. He now wants to throw down the torch immediately and return the same way.
It took him a lot of perseverance to withstand this pressure.
O'Connor asked inexplicably: "What is a scarab?"
Evelyn quickly explained: "The scarab is a bug that specializes in eating corpses. As long as there are corpses, they can survive. It is a very terrifying bug in ancient times. But I don't understand..."
"Don't understand what?"
"Why do there be scarab beetles in this city?" Evelyn expressed her doubts.
O'Connor asked back, "This is the tomb of the Pharaoh, isn't it normal to have scarabs?"
"But, for three thousand years, we were the first visitors here. Even if there are corpses here, the scarab has eaten up all the corpses. How did they survive for three thousand years?"
Evelyn asked her own doubts.
O'Connor couldn't help but be stunned. Yes, three thousand years have passed, and even if the mummies are preserved in good condition, they should be eaten. How did the scarab without food survive for three thousand years?
Not to mention three thousand years, even if you have nothing to eat for three years, these little things have long been starved to death.
But they have survived for three thousand years.
This is really incredible, how it is done.
O'Connor couldn't help but look at Wang Bo. He thought Wang Bo, and he thought Wang Bo could give them a reasonable explanation.
Wang Bo said calmly: "It's very simple. For three thousand years, these scarabs have actually been sleeping. As the first visitor in more than three thousand years, we woke up the sleeping scarabs, and that's all."
"Is that true?" O'Connor turned his head and asked Evelyn.
"On the surface, this answer is reasonable, but there is another question." Evelyn expressed her biggest doubt without waiting for O'Connor to ask.
"What method did the ancient Egyptians use to make the scarab sleep for three thousand years without death."
O'Connor nodded. He knew that animals would hibernate, but even powerful animals could not hibernate for three thousand years without death.
Wang Bo said: "Spell!"
Evelyn couldn't help but widen her eyes, "What did you say?"
"I said, spell!"
"Impossible!" Evelyn thought Wang Bo would give him something, but she didn't expect that Wang Bo would give him such an unreliable answer.
So he vetoed without thinking.
"How can there be spells in this world? Are you joking?"
Jonathan couldn't help but nodded, and he also felt that the answer was unreliable.
O'Connor thought about it and did not refute Wang Bo at the first time, because he felt that this place was weird a long time ago, and he didn't think Wang Bo would be joking here.
Wang Bo walked forward and said calmly: "Whether you believe it or not, the magic really exists, otherwise you think, why do I want to get the Black Sutra of the Undead!"
At this moment, everyone finally walked through the underground corridor and came under the legs of Anubis, the god of death.
This is a very wide space.
Evelyn was attracted by what Wang Bo said just now, but her attention had already turned to this room, "It's here, there must be a compartment nearby!"
She looked around excitedly.
Wang Bo looked around and found that the Americans had not seemed to have come in yet, so he walked around the base of the Anubis sculpture and soon found a place to open.
"It's here."
Evelyn walked over and looked at it for a few times, and said excitedly: "Yes, it's really something you can pried open here."
Jonathan's eyes lit up. Could it be that gold was buried in it? He picked up the crowbar without hesitation and walked over, "What are you waiting for? Let's start."
