Chapter 138: Truancy Day (Tenth)

Tuesday, May 27th.

At six o'clock in the morning, Evan opened his eyes on time, and the busy day began.

Release water, brush your teeth, wash your face, greet each other with familiar classmates, and make an appointment with Rick and Warner to have breakfast together.

At the breakfast party, Warner asked: "Evan, did you hear you posted another paper, right? This time it will be posted on Science!"

Seeing Evan nodding silently, Warner showed an envious look and sighed: "You are so amazing! I wonder when I will be able to make achievements worthy of publishing in Science?"

Rick said: "It's not easy, and joining Evan's lab is not possible. His research field is still a fertile land that is undeveloped, and he can do a lot of research...I'm right, Evan?"

Evan's mouth was stuffed with egg yolks and couldn't speak, so he could only nod and signal Rick to say that he was right.

Warner had a moment of intention towards Rick's proposal, but he still firmly insisted on his heart and said, "Forget it, I'm still more interested in the vast universe than the materials."

After Warner said this, Rick remembered that Warner had said that he wanted to go to the observatory to study astrophysics, so he did not persuade him.

After breakfast, the three of them dispersed.

At eight o'clock, Evan carried his schoolbag and prepared to go to the classroom. On the way, Evan suddenly felt something strange. He looked left and right, but he didn't understand.

When he arrived at the classroom, Evan was stunned.

The huge staircase classroom was empty, including the podium.

After standing there for a moment, Evan suddenly made a right-boxing and left-legged move, and said to himself: "I remember, this is the legendary Ditch Day."

"No wonder I find it strange. It turns out that there are too few people on the road."

"They probably are still in the dormitory building now. If not, I have to go back."

The so-called skipping school day is a tradition of California Tech. It originated in a spring of the 1920s. A group of senior students who wanted to relax decided to let themselves go and give themselves a day off. On that day, they did not go to class and collectively escaped from the campus.

At first, truant days were only popular in senior year's grades, but later, lower grade students learned this tradition and combined it with the school's prank tradition. After senior students skipped school, lower grade students took the opportunity to go to their dormitories to change the situation. Over the years, senior students' dormitories were piled up with sand and foam, and parked in a car that was split and moved into a reorganized car or a running cement mixer truck. The furniture in the dormitories were also hung on the ceiling, moved outside the yard or hung onto trees.

Of course, senior students will not sit still and wait for death. They often try their best to prevent lower-grade students from succeeding. For example, keeping the specific date of truant day secret until the day of truant school, catching lower-grade students off guard. In order to make it difficult for lower-grade students to start, they have also blocked large cement blocks in the entrance aisle.

When Evan returned to the dormitory building, he found that most of the lower grade students were there.

In the public restaurant in BlackerHouse, Rick stood on the dining table and arranged tasks loudly. He recruited a large number of people and was preparing to overcome the obstacles on the second floor.

Almost all seniors in BlackerHouse live on the second floor. Now, at some point, the second floor is blocked by a bunch of tables and chairs.

A student in pajamas expressed his support to Rick. He lived on the second floor and never thought that he would just come down for breakfast. In less than ten minutes, the way back was gone.

After the mobilization was completed, Rick led a large army to set off in a mighty battle.

Warner was also in the team. He saw Evan watching on the side and waved to him.

Evan thought about it and got into the team.

"Evan, how about we go to Orville's dormitory later?"

Evan shrugged indifferently.

The group worked together to clear the tables and chairs from the stairs. When they arrived on the second floor, they found that the entire corridor was blocked by dense lines, and they were blocked by thin lines.

There is often a sign hanging at the entrance of the corridor, which reads: "Warning, these wires are powered by high voltage, and if they touch them, they will die."

Next to the text, there is a skeleton rack drawn by electric shock.

After reading the text on the sign, a student sneered: "How could there be high voltage electricity here? It must be fake."

As he said that, he would tear the wire off at the moment.

At this time, Rick reached out to stop the person.

He pointed to the bell tied to the thin line and said, "Of course there is no high voltage electricity, so this is a question given by seniors. Faced with problems, violent solution is not our style."

After saying that, Rick moved his hands and feet and prepared to bravely enter the "high-pressure formation".

After carefully observing the direction of the high-voltage line, Rick bent down, leaned his body sideways, carefully lifted his foot and stepped over the first line, and then slowly moved forward.

The second, the third...

Rick walked smoothly. When he walked almost two meters, he didn't touch a single thread.

Soon, Rick came to the door of a dormitory. He saw a new prompt on the door, and then asked everyone waiting at the entrance: "Everyone, who likes the lyrics game?"

A man in the crowd raised his hands high.

"Very good," Rick said, lifting off the piece of paper stuck on the door, crumpling it into a ball and throwing it over, "removing it quickly."

The man picked up the paper ball and replied within a few minutes: "The few words that were specially circled are 'key', 'password', 'answer'."

"This should mean that you can get the key by answering the right question."

Rick thought for a while and said, "The key should be with the administrator."

"I keep moving forward. Whoever you are together can be faster."

As soon as he finished speaking, the person in his pajamas said, "I'll do it!"

However, before he could take a few steps, he rang a thin line. The next second, the door of the room not far from Rick opened. He stood at the door and threw a small ball at Rick and the person in his pajamas.

Rick subconsciously wanted to dodge, but because he was too close, he couldn't do it. The ball hit him with a "bang", and then he got wet.

This is a water polo.

The man in pajamas was not spared either.

Rick said angrily: "Oville, it's not me who was electrocuted, why did he hit me?"

Yes, it was BlackerHouse chairman Orville who threw the water ball.

Orville smiled and said, "There is no way, I can't see it inside, so I can only sit there."

After saying that, Orville closed the door with a "bang!"

Rick had no choice but to let the man in pajamas go out in order not to get hit by the water polo.

"Come in flexibly."

After several twists and turns, the problems posted on the doors of each dormitory were obtained one by one.

Problems are all-encompassing, such as chemistry:

"Who knows what the number of hybrid orbitals in C2H2 is?"

“The answer is: 4.”

For example, astrophysics:

"What is the ratio of the diameter of the sun's largest planet to the smallest planet (rounded and expressed in hexadecimal form.)"

“The answer is: 1”

There are twelve questions in total. Evan did not participate in the passing of the level, but contributed an answer.

The twelve answers are the clearance password. The coordinates converted from numbers indicate a location on campus. Everyone found the administrator there, and the administrator had spare keys for all the rooms.

Finally, all senior students' dormitories were allowed to be "fiddled with" by the lower graders who had successfully passed the level.

This morning, Evan saw a good show.
