Chapter 23 [Solution]
On the stairs in the middle of the stand, an instructor was extinguishing the ashes and throwing them into the drainage channel. He raised his head and a student from the class broke into the ground was running from afar. He recognized that it was a "dumb".
The instructor yawned and was on the stands, intending to take a nap, but was soon awakened by the sound of footsteps getting closer and closer.
"Instructor."
The instructor half opened his eyes and glanced at Li Weiyin.
"What's up?"
Li Weiyin swept around with his light, walked closer to him, and said in a voice that only two people could hear:
"I know about the Tin Man."
After saying that, he looked at the instructor with a bright look, staring at the instructor with a confused face:
"What nonsense are you talking about? Instructor Liang asked you to run enough laps? Do you want to cut corners, right?"
The instructor's tone became higher and higher. Li Weiyin quickly bowed down and said "Sorry", and continued running along the track without looking back.
His eyes locked on another instructor who was admonishing the students in the distance.
"Instructor."
"What are you doing? Didn't you see me doing serious business?"
"I know about the Tin Man?"
"Western? What's the matter?"
"I've been disturbed."
After trying several instructors in a row, the answers they received were similar. Li Weiyin had already run three quarters of the way and glanced at Instructor Wang who was lying on the stands.
He recognized Instructor Wang as the instructor who watched Lan Silin talk to his "sister" that day.
He then walked forward.
"Instructor."
Instructor Wang sat up in a daze:
"What's the matter?"
"I know about the Tin Man."
A hint of surprise flashed across Instructor Wang's face, he sat up straight and accidentally patted the back of his neck:
"What are you talking about?"
Lee Weiyin blinked slightly and said:
"It's Lan Silin's book."
"Book?"
Li Weiyin closed his eyes, opened it for a while, took a deep breath and said:
"——It's the one he took away."
Instructor Wang's eyes suddenly widened, and there was a hint of panic in his expression that he had no time to hide.
"I don't know what you are talking about..."
Li Weiyin stopped explaining - he slowly reached into his pocket and took out a wrinkled ball of paper.
"This is the last page of the book "The Tin Man"... He tore off this page and left it to me."
Instructor Wang suddenly stood up:
"When did this happen?"
"It's what Fang Chang gave me this afternoon."
Instructor Wang took a "hiss" and looked around, confirming that no one could hear the conversation between the two. He bowed slightly and lowered his voice:
"What is he going to do?"
Li Weiyin shook his head.
"I have no idea."
He paused and continued:
"But he left a code word on the paper."
"Code word?" Instructor Wang raised his eyebrows, hurriedly grabbed the note and opened it carefully to study.
Li Weiyin took advantage of this moment and continued:
"He wants to tell me something, something that cannot make you...the instructors and teachers in the academy know."
After a pause, he added:
"——I think it may be related to the escape from the academy."
Instructor Wang suddenly pulled his face out of the paper and pressed Li Weiyin's shoulder anxiously:
"Tell me the specific situation quickly...wait!"
Instructor Wang pushed Li Weiyin away slightly, raised half of his eyebrows, and looked at him suspiciously for a while:
"Why are you telling me about this? You are not using a scam, are you? I tell you, I am very smart, don't think of any wrong ideas..."
Lee Weiyin said calmly:
"You can be exempted from reporting the students, right?"
Instructor Wang was stunned and grabbed his hair.
"This is indeed the rule of our school."
Li Weiyin said again:
"I was fined fifty laps, and I still haven't run twenty-eight laps yet, so I can't run anymore."
Instructor Wang blinked his eyes, quietly said "Oh--" and suddenly realized. He pulled Li Weiyin to the side of the stands, slightly away from the nearby instructors, and hooked one hand on his shoulder.
"Come on... Let's continue to tell me what the code word is. What else does Lan Silin want to do?"
Li Weiyin pondered for a moment and explained:
"According to the content on the note, he wanted me to get some 'thing' in the box. I think...that thing should be that book."
After saying that, Li Weiyin quickly raised his head and looked at Instructor Wang. After hearing this, Instructor Wang felt a little nervous on his face.
After Lan Silin stole the book, she indeed put it back in the box. Li Weiyin thought to herself and frowned slightly.
"But... I've read this note several times, and there's no code word on it?"
"The code word is not on this piece of paper. It should be on the book. Books are just tools for decoding."
"What does this mean?"
Li Weiyin truthfully explained what he saw and heard:
"I often see Lan Silin walking alone to places where others cannot see it, scribbling. The things he wrote seem to have no practical meaning, just a string of garbled codes, but I think those garbled codes are actually regular. If there is a reference, you can crack the true meaning of that kind of password..."
"As for those cracked references for passwords, I think most of them are the book he put back into the box."
Instructor Wang widened his eyes:
"Why do you feel that?"
"Because he tore off the last page of the book and left it to me...this is a reminder in itself."
Instructor Wang is skeptical:
"Why did he leave this kind of thing to you?"
"I think he wants to help me escape from the academy."
"Do you two... have a good relationship?"
"Every time I eat, he will sit opposite me, but we have never spoken."
Instructor Wang thought for a while, and suddenly shook his head like a rattle:
"What passwords are messy? If everyone else has left, what else can you do? Are you talking nonsense, are you?"
Li Weiyin didn't argue, looked up at him and asked:
"Are there any pens?"
Instructor Wang muttered for a long time, but he still took out a pen from his pocket. Li Weiyin took it, and without thinking, he put the draft paper on the stands and wrote a code word in the blank space.
setyii-.-.%
Instructor Wang stared at the lines of words for a long time, but couldn't figure out the mystery.
"What does this mean?"
"This is a simple character-segmented password. Different forms of carriers are used to express a set of numbers, each set of numbers representing different meanings."
Li Weiyin used his pen to deduce it step by step:
"sety is the abbreviation of seventy. Similarly, the writing of 60 (sixty) is state, 24 (twenty-four) is twty-fr; ii means Roman numeral 2, -.-. This is the Morse code... Then, the symbol % is relatively complicated. At first I thought it was written randomly, but later I found that there are rules, corresponding to the horizontal numeric keys corresponding to the upper key on the standard computer keyboard, that is, !=1,@=2,#=3,¥=4,%=5,…=6,&=7…"
"Okay, okay, okay, just tell the conclusion."
"The conclusion is that after cracking this string of passwords, you can get a string of numbers: 70, 2, 3, 5."
Li Weiyin moved the tip of the pen up again and pointed to the original text on the last page of "Tin Man".
"Page 70, paragraph 2, sentence 3, word 5, just on this piece of paper."
"Tin Man" is a very thin fairy tale picture book. The last page happens to be page 70. According to the rules described by Li Weiyin, the tip of the pen is exactly pointed to the word "find".
