Chapter 188 Mountain Peak Island

After two vortex crises, Charles did not dare to be careless at all. He not only allowed the bat to observe in the sky at all times, but also asked the sailors to test the speed of the ship at all times.

Even though Charles was so vigilant, the Narwhal still had dangers several times.

This sea area is full of elusive vortexes. No one knows what the rules of their appearance are, and when will it pop up.

Fortunately, they are not much from the island.

In his sleep, Charles closed his eyeballs under his eyelids tightly and moved quickly. He was dreaming. Judging from his frowning expression, this dream was not a good dream.

Suddenly, a scream sounded from the side, Charles' eyes opened instantly, and he quickly jumped from the hammock to rush towards Dipp, who was at the helm, "What's wrong? There's another vortex?"

"Captain, I don't see it very clearly. Is that an island?"

Charles narrowed his eyes slightly and looked to the farthest point of the searchlight over there.

It was not like an island, but more like a huge lotus leaf inserted on the water. "It looked like an artificial building..."

Charles turned his head and looked at the chart next to him, and found that his target island was about to arrive.

After asking the bat to patrol for a while, it was confirmed that there was no danger, Charles slowly approached in the Narwhal.

Charles found that this thing seemed to be made of concrete, and could not see clearly from a distance. When he looked up close, he found that it was hundreds of meters high. The Narwhal sailed past it and felt very oppressive.

Such a huge thing is not much easier to create than to add an island.

"Captain, there is one more over there." Hearing Dipp's voice, Charles looked in the direction of his finger.

The ability of night vision allowed Charles to see that there were also huge concrete buildings on the sea on the left. If he guessed correctly, there were also the same buildings in other places.

"Are these things used to prevent those vortexes?" An idea flashed through Charles' mind.

Under Charles' doubt, the Narwhal left these things and continued to drive forward.

With the reminder of the things mentioned above, Charles didn't feel much surprise when he saw a new island appearing under the searchlight.

As the Narwhal surrounds the island, Charles gets preliminary information about the islands.

This is a round island with no plants or animals on it. The ground seems to have been rested and very flat.

Apart from some buildings, there is a lonely towering mountain.

There are few peaks on the island, and such towering peaks are even rarer.

After throwing the fish without responding, the bat and the mouse were allowed to explore the way, and it was still normal. It was time to get off the boat next.

Looking at the ready crew members, Charles spoke to them and said, "Before getting off the boat, I will talk about something. If you find any text record on the island, you must wait until I have read it before you decide. This matter is crucial. Everyone must remember it."

The crew looked at each other for a few times, wondering why the captain announced this rule.

, "Is it the reason for...the Pope......" Bandage asked slowly.

Charles looked at him with a complicated expression and said nothing. With a wave of his hand, the sailor next to him began to put down the wooden boat.

The crew members who were ready to go slowly drifted to the dock. Facing the strange island, everyone held their breath and shone them vigilantly with the flashlight.

What they first explored was the building complex located on the coast. Compared with other island buildings, the builders here prefer to use reinforced concrete. Although this is very sturdy, it is better to say that it is a house than a fortress.

"Lily, let the mice go out for warning. If you encounter any situation, let them warn them as soon as possible."

"Yeah." Lily nodded, she raised her head and squeaked twice, and quickly slapped the mice surrounding her.

Charles rushed into a fortress first, but he came out soon, with a very empty inside, not even a corpse.

After searching for houses, Charles found nothing. This place was different from the chaos in other places. The people here seemed to have packed their luggage and left calmly.

Charles didn't know if this was good or bad news.

They cleaned up so cleanly that the probability of clues here is very low, but it also proves that the island should not be in danger.

The complex was very large. Charles and his crew searched for a full half-day to find it thoroughly. During this period, he encountered no danger or any living creatures.

Charles ordered the crew to rest on the spot and wait until they had enough rest before continuing to search.

The bonfire rose, and a short fat man was diligently baking cans.

That was the new chef of the Narwhal, used to fill the vacancy that Frey left.

"Sir Deep, this is yours." He narrowed his little eyes and delivered the canned meat that was opened and hot to Deep.

"Are you blind? Didn't you see the captain here?" Dipp hit his head with his hands.

The chef nodded repeatedly and delivered the canned food in his hand to Charles.

Without picking up his can, Charles inserted his prosthesis directly into the fire, took out a box of dark cans, knocked it open with a black blade and ate it directly.

"You don't need to send someone else's hand. There is no director or the minister of agriculture here. Do your own business."

"Yes, yes." The chef nodded embarrassedly.

Looking at his timid look, Charles suddenly missed the thin bamboo pole Frey. Sometimes his companions didn't just talk, but had a tacit understanding between them. Unfortunately, three years have changed a lot.

The sound of swallowing and chewing around the bonfire came one after another. When Charles was halfway through eating, he paused, tapped his hand on his forehead and continued to eat.

"What? I heard auditory hallucinations again?" The doctor asked without hesitation.

Feeling the squirming feeling in his brain, Charles spoke and replied: "It's just a little bit, it can still bear it."

"Have you ever seen another doctor on your back? According to your situation for three years, you should have died long ago."

"Well, her method is very special. I heard that it cannot last for too long and there will be follow-up treatment."

"It's interesting. I accept her for me when I have time. I want to know how she did it."

"Hmm." Charles picked up a slice of bread and stuck out the last bit of gravy from the can.

"Squeak-squeak-squeak-!!" The rat's scream suddenly sounded from the left, and Charles threw down the can and stood up immediately.

Lily, who was gnawing on the dried banana next to her, swallowed the things in her cheeks, "Mr. Charles, it's okay, they just found a body."

"Corpsy? Go and take a look." Charles rushed towards the direction of the sound.

Soon the corpse in Lily's mouth appeared in front of Charles. It was actually more accurate to describe it as a skeleton. This was a skeleton with most of its body buried in the soil.

After picking up the bones and checking them quickly, Charles found that the entire skeleton had nothing abnormal except one of his gold teeth in the gate.

"The people of the Foundation? Will the people of the Foundation be inlaid with gold teeth?"

"Captain, look at this guy's pelvis. He is a man. And his legs have been broken." Dipp said squatting on the ground.

Charles glanced at him unexpectedly, "Do you know this?"

Dipp smiled embarrassedly. "In this position, you have to learn something if you don't want to be fooled by others."

"Let's go, just a corpse, let's continue to set off." As the light of the flashlight in Charles and others left, the next to the corpse fell into darkness again.
