Chapter 2 Saving Private Adolf

Lyon led 14 people toward the village three kilometers away marked on the map. Along the way were all retreating German soldiers and medical personnel. Judging from the high proportion of wounded soldiers, most of them were the main attacking troops who retreated first and then and were defeated.

"Are there anyone who is not injured yet? It's okay to run away, there are a few people here!" A senior officer shouted at the crowd while standing on a rock.

When Lyon heard this, he quickly lowered his head and moved forward faster, and silently said in his heart that there is nothing good to be done here at this time. I'd better leave quickly. You can't see me or see me.

But God obviously did not give Lyon a chance to leave, "Hey, that sergeant, stop, yes, you are talking about." The officer saw Lyon at a glance and continued, "I order you to bring your people here!"

Lyon had no choice but to sigh, and walked towards the officer with a dozen people beside him, and asked, "Sir, what's the matter?"

The officer saw more than a dozen people following Lyon, and his originally frown stretched slightly, and asked, "Your army number and your name!"

Lyon replied loudly: "Lyon Andres, acting platoon leader of the third company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Battalion, 16th Regiment of the Sixth Army, sir!".

The officer continued, "Very good! I am Lieutenant Colonel John of the Sixth Army. Now you need to command your people and the 44 idiots along the way to a village four kilometers south. The field hospital in the military was bitten by a team of French people there. I want you to join forces with the guard company there to cover the retreat of the field hospital!" The officer said, pointing to the listless group of people on the side.

Lyon was startled and said, "But sir, I am just a sergeant, and the troops do not have heavy firepower." The officer frowned when he heard this, walked to the retreating crowd, stopped a second lieutenant who was being supported and walked forward, then tore off his collar and elliptical, quickly returned to Lyon, stuffed the collar and elliptical into Lyon's hand, and said, "But, you are now the second lieutenant company commander, the 4th Company of the 16th Infantry Regiment! All the abandoned weapons on the way from here to the military hospital belong to you. Is there any problem?"

Lyon sighed inwardly that the troops were already in chaos and could be promoted at will. Seeing that the officer was determined and knew that he might be miserable to refuse the ending with an excuse. So he immediately answered the question and then took the troops he had put together and ran quickly to the direction Lieutenant Colonel John pointed.

Lyon ran and thought that the unit he was carrying was just a group of scattered soldiers and should reorganize the troops first and then collect heavy weapons. Otherwise, if there were many French people at that time, I would not be able to block their attack at all. I would not want to live again and die again.

After making up his mind, Lyon said to the army, "Stop and rest!" Then he pulled a few of them and followed his soldiers to the side from the beginning, and asked, "What are your names? Introduce yourself."

"Report to the sir, my name is Hans"

"Jonas, sir."

"Hankel"

"Peter, sir."

Lyon smiled at them and said, "Very good. Each of you will bring 10 people to form a class later. Hans, you are Class 1, Jonas, Hankel, and Peter, and I will take Class 5. Then I will find out if there are any heavy weapons and ammunition nearby. I don't want to die."

"Company Commander, you're right, we have to arm ourselves!" Jonas agreed.

"Well, then go and choose people." Lyon said and walked towards the army.

It has to be said that for the Germanic people, discipline is like being engraved into their bones. Although this unit was temporarily pieced together, no one still wanted to escape. The unit was quickly reorganized and walked towards the nearest abandoned position.

Soon, Lyon and his group arrived at a position that was obviously abandoned in a hurry. Two dark mg08/15 light machine guns were randomly thrown by the sandbags, while the heavy machine guns not far away were obviously artificially blown up.

"Company Commander, come and have a look! There is something good here!" Hans called out excitedly not far away. Lyon ran over after hearing this. He saw a small cannon lying quietly in a hidden trench. French m1916 infantry cannon, 37mm caliber, and there were two boxes of 12 shells next to it. This was a good thing. Obviously, the person who seized it forgot it here.

"Oh, Hans, good job!" Lyon smiled and patted Hans on the shoulder, then said to the soldiers around him: "Bring it and those shells, then bring the two light machine guns I just found, and bring more bullets. We have to hurry up!" After that, he took the lead in carrying a box of shells. The other soldiers quickly collected ammunition and picked up the machine gun. Four or five soldiers pushed and pulled the infantry cannon, and a group of people advanced quickly towards the destination.

The three-kilometer journey was not long, and soon a village with smoke from time to time sporadic gunfire appeared in front of everyone. Lyon whispered, "Secret, hide." Then he called Hans to his side and said to him, "Take the second squad guarding the infantry cannons, wait for me to say hello to you before coming over." Then he whispered to the others: "Fight preparation! Jonas, your second squad will go to the left, Peter, lean to the right, Hankel, you walk with us in the middle, everyone will disperse! Pay attention to the distance! Let's go!" Then he lifted the Mauser rifle in his hand and bowed his waist and slowly touched forward.

After a while, more than 30 French soldiers appeared in front of the army. Seeing that there were not many people, Lyon waved to Hansban, who was hiding behind the guns, and signaled them to follow, then turned around and raised his rifle. At this time, a middle-aged French soldier turned his head and saw a young German soldier holding a rifle at him. He opened his mouth wide in surprise and wanted to make a sound, but the muzzle of the rifle flashed in the hand of the German soldier, and he felt that someone had hit the chest with a hammer and could no longer make a sound.

"Kill!" Lyon roared angrily, as if it was accompaniment of Lyon. The light machine gun beside him began to fire "bang!" The German army rushed towards the French soldiers who were dumbfounded with a rifle that had already been bayonet.

More than 30 French troops were killed by the Germans who were attacking for a long time before they could not resist.

Lyon trembled his hands and tried to hold on to the gun in his hand. This was the second time he had been shooting through time, and the first time he killed someone. And it was so close that he could clearly see the fear in the eyes of the enemy.

"Hu", Lyon breathed a sigh of relief, calmed down his emotions, and raised his legs toward the soldier who was full of excitement.

"Go quickly and get into the village and meet with the field hospitals." Lyon ordered, and then walked towards the village with a slightly heavy pace.

"Oh! Praise God! Reinforcements! Reinforcements are here!" As soon as he walked to the entrance of the village, Lyon heard a cheerful shout, and then a child about 17 years old popped up from the house next to him. "Hello, Mr. Lieutenant!" The soldier with a little acne on his face ran to Lyon with a happy face, saluted a standard Prussian military salute, and then continued: "Sir, you are finally here, I thought we were dead."

Lyon smiled at him and said, "Where are the rest of you? Where is your sir? Take me to see him."

The child scratched his head embarrassedly and said apologetically: "Oh, sorry, I'm so excited, come with me." The field hospital was set up in a small chapel in the middle of the village. An elderly lieutenant colonel officer walked over to Lyon with a captain, and said as he walked: "Hey! Man, thank you for coming to save us, how many people did you bring?"

"Add me 59." Lyon replied with a salute.

"God! Why did the idiots in the military headquarters send less than 60 people here? Didn't I tell them that we were trapped by the French army with more than 300 people?" the lieutenant colonel shouted in disappointment.

"Sir, don't you still have a guard company here?" Lyon couldn't help but wonder.

The lieutenant colonel patted his forehead and pointed to the captain officer next to him and said, "This is the company commander of the guard. You can ask him about his situation by yourself." After that, he lowered his head and turned to enter the church. "Man, my situation is not good here. My troops have been reduced by more than half, and there are only more than 70 people left. In addition, your people are difficult to block the attack of the Frenchman." The captain was obviously a little disappointed. Lyon frowned and said, "Sir Captain, I came from behind just now and only saw dozens of French troops. Why don't you break through?"

The captain sighed helplessly: "Most of the field hospitals were injured due to poison gas bombs. The eyes cannot see anything at all and cannot break through."

Lyon thought for a while and said, "Let me take a squad to cover the retreat of these patients and medical staff, so that the eyes cannot see, and let the medical staff or our soldiers leave. I will leave the remaining four squads for you, and you will be here to block the French army. When we arrive at a safe place, you will retreat again, okay?"

The captain nodded and said, "There is only this now. Then hurry up and leave with the non-combatants." Lyon immediately shouted to the troops on standby outside, "Squad 5, come in and help!" and then walked into the hospital.

Suddenly he found that a man lying on the hospital bed with gauze covered in eyes looked familiar, but it was not long after he came to this world. Lyon walked to the person strangely and asked, "Hey, what's your name?"
