Chapter 128 Natural Disaster Investigation

Arthas was resting lazily on a big tree, and his hundreds of troops were stationed in the open space not far away.

A month ago, the mysterious crow prophet appeared in the city of Lordaeron, saying a dark prophecy that was not fulfilling.

Terenas II ignored the crazy old man, and even Alsace himself soon forgot the strange interview with the emperor.

However, things did not pass by.

A natural disaster began to spread in the north of Lordaeron, and more and more towns lost contact inexplicably. The surviving refugees looked haggard and mentally collapsed, and could only describe what they saw and heard with horror.

Those words point to the same thing:

Death, darkness, monsters.

Everything seems to be moving in the direction of prophecy.

So two weeks ago, Terenas sent his son, Lordaeron's heir to investigate the strange disaster.

"Prince of Arthas, we have been waiting here for several hours..." The guard's voice interrupted Arthas's nap: "Are you sure your friend will come again?"

The blonde prince raised his eyelids and said to his worried subordinates: "Don't worry, Farrick Gianna will always be a little late."

As soon as he spoke, Alsace heard a wild roar from afar. The prince woke up like a leopard dozing in the sun, grabbed the hammer beside him and ran towards the distance.

The source of the roar was a two-headed ogre. The five-meter-high body pressed up like a hill, and the two heads swayed left and right, and the half of the tree trunk in his hand swept towards the tiny blonde figure in front of it.

"The Holy Light is above!" Farrick drew his sword and was about to step forward.

"Put down the sword, captain." Arthas couldn't help but laugh, "Gianna can take good care of herself."

The tall blonde figure stood there, and as he spat out a spell, a fireball flew out of his hand and slapped the ogre's head.

One of the two-headed ogres' heads was torn into pieces by explosion, and their huge body thrust down to the ground. The other intact head seemed to have no control of the body. They could only lie on the ground and yelled in despair, then turned into a charred skeleton in another fireball.

The blonde figure seemed to be a little taller than I remembered.

Seeing that the battle was over, Alsace walked forward and said with a smile: "Gentlemen, this is the special messenger of Kenreto, one of the most talented mages in this land..." He walked forward, his tone getting closer: "It is also my old friend, Ji'an..."

The figure with long golden hair turned around, and Alsace was stunned.

"Kelthas!? Why are you!?"

"Althuss, is it disappointing you to see me? My ability to interpret magic is much better than that of Jaina... "The elf has no expression on his face, and the flames on his hands are gradually extinguished: " Or is it that combat ability doesn't matter to you, you only need a woman."

The elf choked the human prince to death with just one word, but now he is shouldering the heavy responsibility of the kingdom and can no longer act voluntarily. Alsace, who realized that he was out of control, immediately said seriously:

"His Royal Highness Sun Chaser, I am very honored to see you here, but I thought that the messenger of Kenreto was Gianna."

The Sun Chaser Prince's eyes, which had no pupils, turned around and looked behind him.

Arthas saw a slim figure wandering out from behind the ogre's huge body that was lying on the ground.

She was wearing a blue and purple mage robe, and her waterfall-like blonde hair was half covered in her hood.

"Long time no see Prince Arthas of Lordaeron."

"Miss Jaina Prodmore..." The girl's beautiful appearance made Arthas lose his mind: "It's great to see you again. I hope you don't encounter any danger along the way."

"Thank you for your concern, Your Highness. The journey from Dalaran was smooth, thanks to the escort of Kelthas."

Lost flashed in Alsace's face, but he could only thank the two in the most official words.

Especially the old-fashioned elf he hated the most.

----

That night, Lordaeron's troops camped in an open space. Stars flashed in the moonless night sky, and the soldiers by the bonfire laughed loudly.

Arthas looked at the girl and the high elf opposite the flames and was speechless.

He and Jaina had a short relationship, and the two had even made a private life, but they ended up in vain.

After all, it was because of my cowardice at that time and I was not ready to take responsibility for this girl.

Jaina's father was Delin Prodmore. Although she called herself "Admiral", she was actually the king of the sea kingdom Kurtiras. Both sides were actually princes and princesses who were of equal status.

Fortunately, the two's secret relationship has always been underground. If the parents of both sides know about it, and their "start and end up abandoning", it will be a diplomatic accident.

Two years have passed since then. He wanted to continue this opportunity to rehabilitate with Jaina, but the original time between the two of them inexplicably inserted a high elf into it.

This Prince of Kelthas from Quelthalas is Jaina's senior in Dalaran. She once pursued Jaina for a while, but the human girl eventually chose her own tribe.

Alsace didn't know why he suddenly ran out to disrupt the situation.

Things seemed to be different from his original expectations.

But no matter what, he never got the chance to be alone with Jaina.

There is no chance to express all the prepared words.

----

At noon the next day, the human soldiers put away their camps and set off again.

The troops of hundreds of people held high the king's flag and advanced along the road, passing more than a dozen independent farms along the way, but did not encounter the imagined scene of welcoming in the middle of the road.

Everything was so quiet that it was a bit weird.

Finally, Alsace, who was walking in the front, stopped in front of a farm. The door of the wooden house was broken. The large grassland that was supposed to be grazing cattle and sheep was empty, and the breeze was mixed with an indescribable smell.

The prince jumped off the horse: "Everything is not right here."

"No one here," Jaina replied. "Maybe the owners of the farm are seriously ill and cannot walk out of the room?"

Kelthas walked up straight: "You will know at a glance."

"His Highness Sun Chaser, the inhabitants here are my subjects..." Arthas stopped him: "I vow to protect them, and now is the time for me to fulfill my oath."

The high elf shrugged and let it aside.

Alsace raised his chin and strode onto the path in front of the farm.

However, when he was about to reach the wooden house, the wind suddenly changed. A terrifying stench hit his face, almost suffocating Alsace on the spot.

The smell is mixed with a disgusting and sweet fragrance, and even the air in the slaughterhouse is much fresher than here.

Alsace turned around instinctively, and he saw that some soldiers had started to vomit. Jaina was covering her face and retching, and even Kelsace frowned.

The consequences of the residents in the house should be very clear - the farm has become a rotten morgue.

But Arthas looked at the high elf who was still standing tall, and suddenly felt an unknown impulse in his heart.

"At least, confirm..."

He forced himself to resist the uproar in his stomach and continued to walk forward with his teeth.

The wooden steps squeaked under the iron boots, and Arthas walked into the front door where the door opened. The momentary alternation of light and darkness made his vision unable to adapt.

But even so, he saw something in the darkness.

It was a withered and thin figure, and his twisted body was twitching slightly.

‘There are actually survivors!’ Alsace felt relieved and said, “I am Prince of Arthas, my troops are here…”

Halfway through the words, the figure in the darkness slowly turned around.

A rotten face appeared in Alsace's newly restored vision, with two rows of broken teeth exposed, and her white eyeballs as white as dead fish were deeply trapped in the withered eye sockets.

"Save you..."

His voice became smaller and smaller, and he finally stood there.

The figure suddenly rushed up as if he had really seen his savior.

Alsace, who was still in a daze, was knocked to the ground directly, and the strong stench instantly spread across his entire body like a solid mucus.

Only then did he see clearly what was in front of him.

Below the tattered shirt and overalls are grey-green broken flesh, and yellow bones can be seen vaguely under the tattered pustules.

The rotten fingers grabbed the shiny plate armor on his chest, leaving thick fingerprints.

All signs indicate that he is dead, but it is now lying on itself and scratching wildly, with its strength and movement even surpassing the living.

The sticky black liquid sprinkled on Alsace's face, and the extreme disgust finally woke him up from his sluggishness. His usual training took effect. He exerted force from his waist and his knees suddenly pushed out. The living dead man seemed much lighter than a normal person, and he easily kicked him aside.

The warhammer in his hand was under the wheel of movement, and the hammer head with a flashing light hit deeply into the monster's torso.

Before he could take a breath, more roars mixed with phlegm sounds surged from all directions, and more things seemed to be surrounding him at an astonishing speed in the surrounding darkness.

Without caring about whether the attack just now was fatal, the prince got up and rushed outside the house.

The door frame passed by. As soon as his eyesight was adapted to the sun, he saw a golden fireball passing by his face and sinking into the darkness behind him.

He saw Jaina and a team of soldiers running closer, and flames were still burning in the blonde girl's hands.

At the same time, a violent explosion came from behind, and a scorching wave of air pushed him out several meters.

The black smoke mixed with burning flesh came out of the open door.

However, the fireball did not seem to have stopped the monster for too long. Behind Alsace, several living dead people with flames rushed out of the wooden house and hit the iron shields raised by the soldiers.

The battle broke out without warning.

The soldiers were waving iron swords, and the sound of weapons hitting pounding. The female mage shot fireballs with large heads one after another. The roar of flames and the soldiers' battle cry were mixed together.

The wooden house was trembling slightly, and behind the window, it seemed that more monsters were hiding in it.

"Everyone retreats, right away!"

Alsace shouted, turned around and looked at the path behind him, but saw that Kelsace was still standing at the end of the road, as if he was looking at the battle here without any concern.

Immediately afterwards, the high elf raised his hands, and a blue-purple light seemed to flow in his golden eyes.

His lips opened slightly and he spit out a few words:
