Chapter 264 The Wolf of Wall Street
Eric sighed: "I can't explain it clearly in one sentence or two, but I'll get together anyway. I'm just glad that they didn't burn my house these days."
Jeffrey on the other end of the phone laughed again, then said, "You must be uncomfortable at home. It's almost dinner time. Why don't you come to me for a meal and meet Chris?"
Eric was just bored and asked someone to chat for a few days, and didn't want to disturb Jeffrey's enjoyment of family fun. He asked hesitantly: "Is this suitable?"
"Why is it not suitable? It's a holiday. Of course, the more people, the better. I'm so deserted here all year round, so it's better if you come here. By the way, if you want, it's okay to bring those two girls together."
Eric thought that the two girls would never quarrel in front of outsiders, so he agreed: "Then will I go there now?"
"Come on, you're fine, you're hanging up, the kitchen oven is still on." Jeffrey said, and hung up the phone immediately without waiting for Eric to respond.
Eric put down the microphone, returned to the bedroom, changed his clothes and walked downstairs.
Drew and Aniston, who were snatching the dominance of the TV, saw Eric walking downstairs formally, and felt alert at the same time.
"Eric, where are you going?" the two girls asked in unison.
Eric pretended to be displeased and said, "You two are so fussy, I decided to change places to celebrate Thanksgiving."
"No!" The two girls rushed up from the sofa together, walked to Eric in three or two steps, holding his arm tightly, left and right, then glared at each other, and said in unison: "It's all your fault!"
Eric rubbed his temples and said, "Okay, stop arguing. Just now, Jeffrey called me to invite me to his house for dinner. Who are you going?"
"I!" was still in unison.
"Okay, in ten minutes, go change your clothes. You won't bring anyone who has the ink mark."
There was a scattering sound, and Drew and Aniston disappeared at the corner of the stairs together.
...
Drive to Jeffrey's house. Eric rang the doorbell and the door quickly opened from inside.
A young man wearing a serious suit, with a somewhat similar appearance to Jeffrey but much taller than Jeffrey, opened the door, looked at the three people outside the door, showed a faint smile, and stretched out his hand and said, "Hello, Mr. Williams."
"Just call me Eric," Eric reached out to shake the young man in front of him and said, "I'm very happy to see you, Chris."
Chris Hanson nodded to the two girls again, took the red wine handed over by Eric and said, "Please come in quickly."
The three of them walked in with Chris Hanson. The Jeffrey's house was still the same, no, or it was a little cleaner than Eric's last time, probably because his son came back.
Drew and Aniston went to Jeffrey's house for the first time. Seeing this apartment that was obviously not in line with Jeffrey's current wealth, both girls showed a look of surprise. Aniston could still hold back and said nothing, but the little girl was outspoken and said directly: "Jeffrey is already so rich. Why does she still live here?"
Eric turned around and glared at the little girl, warning her not to talk nonsense anymore. However, Chris Hanson took the initiative to explain to Drew: "My father is nostalgic. He is reluctant to move out."
"Oh," the girl nodded slightly, not daring to say anything else.
The three of them sat down in the living room. Jeffrey quickly came out of the kitchen with an apron on his waist. When he saw Eric and the other two, he said, "Eric, you have some rest first, dinner will be ready soon."
"Do you need help?" Eric asked quickly.
Jeffrey shook her head: "No, no. No. With Emily helping me, you guys talk to Chris first." Jeffrey finished speaking and got into the kitchen again.
Chris Hanson smiled awkwardly and explained, "I was joking in the kitchen when I was seven years old. I was burned by hot oil once, and then my dad won't let me get close to the kitchen anymore."
Eric smiled and expressed his understanding, and winked at the two little girls. They walked towards the kitchen obediently.
There was a few reluctances from Jeffrey and another surprised voice that sounded pleasant to the sound of a female voice, which soon calmed down in a whisper.
The two men in the living room looked at each other and smiled.
Eric actually observed Chris Hanson from the beginning. So far, he has not noticed that Chris Hanson has the aura of a top student, and it is not like Jeffrey once said occasionally, he received a full scholarship in college for four years and worked at Morgan Stanley, one of the four major investment banks.
Eric could only summarize from the details of Chris' meticulously wearing suits even when he was in the room, and the other party was either a perfectionist or had a somewhat rigid personality. Of course, the former was more likely.
"Eric, what are you thinking?" Chris asked suddenly.
Since he was Jeffrey's son, Eric naturally felt a little close to Chris and said frankly: "Jeffrey said that you work in Morgan Stanley, and I was wondering, why don't you have the smell of a Wall Street wolf?"
Chris was stunned for a moment, then asked with a smile: "Eric, what do you think the so-called Wall Street Wolf should be like?"
Eric thought for a while and said, "At least it should be full of aggressiveness, but I look at you, more like a meticulous researcher in some research institutes."
Chris shook his head and said, "Eric, you are wrong. The more aggressive the so-called "Wolf of Wall Street" you are talking about, the less aggressive it looks on the surface. You can look for some photos of famous Wall Street investment bank executives and take a look. Almost everyone looks mediocre and can never be found in the crowd."
This was the first time Eric heard this view and asked, "Why do you do this?"
"Because this can make you more disguised, paralyzed your enemy, and make your opponent lose your alert."
Eric nodded thoughtfully: "By the way, Chris, what exactly are you doing?"
"Of course, what makes money and what to do."
Eric smiled and asked, "If Fireflies want to go public, can you find it?"
When Chris heard this question, he slightly stopped the smile on his face and said, "Eric, whether your question is a joke or not, if Firefly is really going to be listed, you must leave it to me to operate. I believe you know the meaning of the name Firefly to me, and I hope it can develop better."
