512. Data Can Talk (Chapter 2)(2/2)

"According to foreign media reports, the latest report released by market research firm IDC on Tuesday showed that global PC shipments increased by 2.3% year-on-year in 2009. Just a few months ago, people also believed that year-on-year growth in 2009 was a luxury. Since the PC industry showed signs of recovery in the third quarter, it has entered a healthy track in the fourth quarter. The PC business seems to be making a comeback.

Holiday shopping, pent-up demand and Windows 7 praises stimulated global PC shipments in the fourth quarter up 15.2% year-on-year. In contrast, the U.S. market grew better, with PC shipments in the fourth quarter rising 24% to 20.7 million units.

"In a sense, American consumers saved the fourth quarter while driving the global market to improve. Analysts were originally expected to grow 11.3%, but the result was a year-on-year increase of 15.2%. Among them, the mini laptop performed better.

On the other hand, as it is still in a difficult period of economic development, American buyers buy cheaper PCs. Prices have dropped sharply due to the emergence of netbooks and mini notebooks, making profits even thinner for manufacturers and retailers. PC computer manufacturers are waiting for corporate IT departments to restart their computer purchase plans.

At the same time, the top five PC manufacturers in the world performed well. Except for Dell, the shipments of the other five PC manufacturers did not show negative growth. HP shipments increased by 10.4%, Dell fell by 9.4%, Acer increased by 22.3%, Lenovo increased by 13.8%, and Toshiba increased by 15.7%. In the US market, only Dell shipments decreased."

Seeing this, Cao Yang smiled knowingly on his face.

These news seems to be of little interest to watch separately, so it will be interesting to read them carefully.

During the global financial crisis in 2008, all industries were affected, especially the laptop industry, which can be said to be a cold winter.

Basically, the laptop business of major brands has declined.

But there is a unique data here, that is, Lenovo's domestic market share has increased instead of falling, and its sales are even better than before.

However, Lenovo's market performance abroad is normal and it loses a lot.

So it is easy to see two points:

First, the country strongly supports Lenovo. After all, it is a local industry and a Chinese brand. It is unbearable to not save it.

Therefore, due to government relief in China, many local units have purchased Lenovo's computers, which has led to its domestic business being quite good.

Correspondingly, the share of other domestic brands has decreased.

Second, Lian wanted to explore overseas markets, so he made some concessions.

Lenovo is also inevitable that all branded machines in the US laptop market will reduce prices collectively, which is why Lenovo is losing money overseas.

If you look at it together, it is easy to draw a conclusion-

The money Lenovo earns in the country has subsidized losses overseas.

In this way, Lenovo lost more than 200 million US dollars a year.

Cao Yang couldn't help but laugh.

It is worthy of the conscience of the United States, and now it has started to eat Chinese and Western medicine.

It's really amazing.

I thought it was only after 2015.
