ASML has always monopolized in the field of dual-bench systems because it requires high precision and complexity of machines.

Finally, in terms of optical lenses.

How difficult is the lens?

In 2002, when He Rongming, general manager of Shanghai Microelectronics Equipment Company, went to Germany for inspection, an engineer told him: "I can't make it even if I give you a complete set of drawings."

Lithography machines, known as the flower of modern optical industry, are extremely difficult to manufacture and can be regarded as the product of the culmination of human wisdom.

The lithography machine is similar to a camera. Its negative film is a silicon wafer coated with photosensitive adhesive. The circuit pattern is micro-projected to the negative film by the lithography machine, etching away part of the glue, exposing the silicon surface for chemical treatment. This process needs to be repeated dozens of times when manufacturing the chip.

The lens located in the center of the lithography machine is composed of more than 20 lenses with a large bottom of the pot in series. The lenses are highly purified and transparent and high-quality polishing. The lenses used by the SMEE lithography machine cost tens of thousands of dollars a piece.

ASML's lenses are based on Zeiss technology. The lens material is even, which takes decades to hundreds of years of technical accumulation.

After all, a world-class lithography machine is actually equivalent to the years of technical accumulation of many companies in many countries in Omegawa.
