8. After the end(1/2)

After a brief rest, start again.

But this time, Jiang Xia no longer needs to measure the desert with his feet.

He has a new transportation tool.

A cool car.

It is very similar to an old-style tough motorcycle with a long grip. The high-performance battery pack continuously sends energy into the front and rear dual-drive motors, providing it with sufficient power.

The design of front and rear double tracks is extremely stable in this desert, but the noise of noisy without fuel power makes Jiang Xia a little uncomfortable.

Even in the sandstorm, this cool car is still silent, with only the hissing sound of the electric current and the restlessness of the wind and sand slapping on the outer shell of the car.

This is a vehicle that men like.

Unfortunately, Jiang Xia has no chips and cannot connect to the motorcycle operating system. She can only sit in the motorcycle bucket as a passenger.

On the hood of the car in front of him was a heavy machine gun with a three-barrel wheel.

It's the kind he used to blow up the robot's head before.

It looks very similar to the foreign trade version of a heavy machine gun that Jiang Xia once promoted around the world when she was a salesperson in a special industry, but it is obviously modified by the technology of this wasteland world.

The rate of fire is faster, the cooling is better, the accuracy is more convenient for handling.

What surprised Jiang Xia the most was that the bullets used in this gun were supplied in bullet boxes, yellow and orange, very heavy, each one was the thickness of a thumb, nearly a palm-length.

The front end is sharp and there are special symbols on it.

"What kind of enemy do you usually fight against? How can you get such a crazy thing?"

Jiang Xia stroked the link in the bullet box and said to Roger who was driving beside him:

"Erglass depleted uranium bombs, even if they are made into bullet specifications, with the penetration of this thing, they should not be used to hit people, right?"

Because he was driving in the dark sandstorm, Jiang Xia not only wore goggles and a headscarf, but also brought an old helmet made of polymer materials, so he spoke in a silence.

Roger's outfit is the same, wrapping her fur coat tightly and wearing goggles, which gives her aura of a waste bandit gang leader.

Faced with Jiang Xia's problem, he laughed in a low voice and said:

“It wasn’t used before.

We, the Mafia, were researchers at Liberty Citizen City more than a year ago, and we didn't need to fight at all.

Then again.

There was a small "conflict" between us and the Immortal Society. After being expelled, we had to find these old antiques left behind during the nuclear war.

It's not light, but powerful, so I just treat it as a way to protect myself and strengthen my courage."

"Nuclear War?"

Jiang Xia keenly captured a keyword, and he asked bluntly:

"I don't know much about the history of your world. There was a nuclear war in this world? How long ago?"

"It's been fifty years ago."

Roger's tone became a little deeper, and it was obviously not a good topic either.

He stopped and said:

"I wasn't born yet, but I just heard from my grandfather that overnight, all over the world became a mess, and the conflict quickly escalated into war, and war turned into nuclear bombs throwing each other.

Billions of people died in a year, and when everyone calmed down, the world was gone.

Those damn bastards!”

He ended with a curse, which confirmed what Jiang Xia thought in his mind: the strange smell under the sand, the strange paralysis of his wounds, and the strange filtered water.

Everything has an explanation.

His face also became quite unfair. Roger seemed to feel Jiang Xia's mood. In the sound of sand and dust peeling off, he said quietly:

"I actually admire you very much, explorer, you dare not bring radiation-proof clothing, don't implant brain chips, do not do prosthetic modifications, and just walk around in the desert.

Although this desert was not the battlefield of nuclear war back then, and the radiation here was not fatal, you can't survive here with pure flesh and blood.

Look.

There is another reason for cooperation between us, how great it is."

Jiang Xia didn't say anything, but just hugged the pulse rifle in his arms. At this moment, only the cold weapon in his arms could bring him a little more sense of security.

But soon, he discovered another problem.

In the dim dust, he turned his head to look at Roger, and then looked at the motorcycles that were looming behind him.

He said:

"You said fifty years ago, you were not born yet? How old are you this year?"

“Thirty-two.”

Roger threw out a number, and he seemed to feel Jiang Xia's strange gaze, and said:

"Is there any problem?"

"Your face is unshaven and full of wrinkles. People believe you when you are seventy years old. It seems that the environment in your world is really bad."

Jiang Xia said:

"You just said Liberty Citizen City, where is that place? Was the new post-war civilization?"

"It's almost the same."

Roger explained:

"Civilization is gone. Now this world is more like a loose union of tribal city-states. I was born in that city, and so is Su.

However, Free Citizen City is just a fringe of wasteland, close to this large desert.

The nuclear war did not affect much of this place, so although it was a remote area, its living environment was much better than that of other city-states.

Of course, it is definitely not as good as the City of Bliss. It is the pearl of the rotten sea, the only big city left in the entire wasteland, and the last place for human civilization to survive."

"This name is a good one."

Jiang Xia usually says:

"It's already the wasteland of doomsday, so what's going on? What's more, it's a place of hypocrisy when you say it."

"Well said!"

Roger laughed very roughly and said:

"When my grandfather was still there, he often said that there was neither free nor did he live in it, but it was indeed a city.

But unfortunately, if this continues, the city will be almost gone.”

"Because Immortality?"

Jiang Xia asked:

"Is that force chasing you? The robot they sent before was also sent by them? Why? They are also looking for the star array?"

"No, they are not looking for a star array."

Roger shook his head and said:

“They are looking for us.

The Black Hand was founded by my grandfather. He was a biologist before the nuclear war and found some inspiration in the outbreak of technology after the war, so he continued to study biotechnology.

Grandfather’s greatest ideal is to enable us, the only remaining humans, to survive, continue, and rebuild civilization through biological transformation.

Unfortunately, not all those who survived the nuclear war are as civilized as my grandfather.

The Eternal Life Association needs the knowledge in our minds and the database left by our grandfather to serve their evil plans.

I am not a good person.

But I have at least a bottom line, so after my grandfather died strangely, we had a stumble. Needless to say, the next thing would be more than a hundred people.

Now...

Only former researchers who were forced to pick up guns were left."

"So you want to escape to another world?"

Jiang Xia asked:

"You said before that all your understanding of the star array comes from another explorer. He told you about the existence of other worlds, and he also guided you to find the star array in the desert.

Where is he now?"

"I don't know either."

Roger said frankly:

"You explorers are all very free people, and as he said, he wanders around the worlds of stars, looking for knowledge and so on.

When I met him, he was planning to take a trip across the wasteland, ending in the city of bliss.
To be continued...
