Chapter Eleven Steps, Plans

Gray clouds floated past the moonlight outside the window, revealing half of the clear moon. Among the twinkling stars in the sky, Wang Ruhu plunged his hands behind his head and lay on the bed with his feet broken. The lively street outside gradually became quiet.

There were occasionally a few jokes from a woman in the rental building, and then they gradually fell asleep. In the quiet, the man on the back of his head did not blink, looking at the silver-gray starry sky, thinking about the experience when he came, there was a slight smile in his thick beard and the corners of his mouth.

The world outside the prison is so wonderful. Thinking about it carefully, I feel that I have suffered a loss for three years. Apart from eating, exercising, fighting and punching people, and apart from Harold who can talk to him, no one can have to talk to him.

As we walked over, we were grateful for saving a boat of people. On the way, we were helped by an old couple and felt the warmth. We also took a free ride on the road, took a hotel, and took an American girl named Linda to ride a ride. Now, the past half month has passed more than those three years.

"When I find my memories... I go back to China to see if there are any relatives, and then I will take a trip to this world and take a look around."

Wang Ruhu looked at the gray clouds floating by the night sky outside the window, and slowly closed his eyes in the cool breeze. After nearly half a month of journey, fatigue finally swept over and fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning and dared to pull my stomach with hunger. I rubbed my messy hair, got up, put on my slippers, walked through the sunlight shining through the window frame, squeezed through the toothpaste and washed up, while listening to the women downstairs who were already clamoring, wrapped their toothbrushes and opened the door and looked downstairs.

In the four doors, a group of women were wearing thin pajamas or T-shirts to comb their hair, apply makeup, or squatting by the stove to eat simple breakfast, and hurried downstairs in all kinds of clothes.

It was nothing strange after looking for a while. Wang Ruhu turned his head and in the light of his eyes, he was in another building opposite him. The fat figure squatted behind the fence, took a telescope and took out a tissue to wipe the corner of his mouth from time to time.

"Uncle Long?"

Wang Ruhu frowned and looked at the group of women entering and leaving the corridor below. He probably understood what the old man was doing. He seemed to notice someone watching him. Long Xing was putting down his telescope and squeezing out a smile. He shrewd his fingers between his thick lips, stepped away from his sandals, and slowly groped back to the room with a squatting posture.

‘No wonder the paradise on earth refers to this?’

After rubbing the toothbrush back and forth a few times, Wang Ruhu shook his head back to the room, took a sip of water, washed the "gubobo" in his mouth for a few times, vomited to the sink, put on clothes, and greeted the woman who went downstairs on the second floor. He watched them leave the lane on the other side, and turned around and walked into the old man's tea restaurant.

As soon as I entered, the store was quiet and the sun was pouring in from the door. The only clerk had not come to work yet. Wang Ruhu, who came in, looked around and his eyes fell on a figure in front of him, and then he was stunned for a moment.

"I was in that building just now...haha... I ran so fast."

On the elegant seat beside the window, Long Xing was sitting on the chair over there with his legs raised, drinking morning tea and reading the newspaper. He glanced at the figure coming over, "Cough cough!" He coughed twice, looking at the shaking newspaper with serious expression.

"I'm up. If you have nothing to do, you'll have more sleep. Or you'll get up early and go out to find something to do. Such a big man should have the strength on the construction site. You can get the green card early for a few years."

"Uncle Xie Long's teachings."

Wang Ruhu could hear that this was talking about him. After all, he had disturbed the old man's voyeurism just now, but it happened that since he opened his mouth, he could follow the words, sit opposite him, and ask about some American rules and Chinatown. However, as soon as he talked about it, Long Xingzheng also started to talk about sex.

Point to the archway at the end of the street.

"Do you know, that's the word "the father of the country" was in the hands of our Chicago Chinatown, in the United States Chinatown, that's this."

The old man gave a thumbs up and compared, "This street was originally called Clark Street, now it belongs to us, and there is the second and third Chinatown behind it. How about it, we Chinese can eat anywhere we go. Thinking back then, when I came to the United States, it was also very powerful..."

As soon as he opened his mouth, Wang Ruhu saw someone who was even more nagging than Harold for the first time. He kept saying a few words to the old man, and asked what he wanted to ask in his heart.

"By the way, Uncle Long, ask you something."

Long Xing was shaking his legs, taking a sip of morning tea, and a casual Cantonese sentence came out.

"What are you asking?"

"Where is the University of Chicago nearby? I want to go over and take a look."

"Look?" The old man squinted his eyes suspiciously, glanced at the knotty muscles in front of him, and looked up and down, "Young boy, are you going to study? Don't cause trouble, find a job first."

Wang Ruhu didn't say anything, but just looked at him straight. The old man felt guilty when he was stared at, and he lowered his head down, "I know, come on, I'll give you a map and find it yourself."

As he said that, he got up at the counter, took out a city map, took out a stroke and drew it on a piece of white paper, and wrote the route to take the subway, and handed it to Wang Ruhu together.

"Just look at it, go and go back early, don't be targeted by the police."

On the other side, Wang Ruhu looked at the ticking on the paper, noted the route, nodded and put it in his arms, took three soup buns from the steamer on the dining table, thanked him, and pushed the door out.

The old man carried a steamer to chase him to the door: "Pay? Hey, don't pay for eating buns?! I'll deal with you when I come back!"

Far away, Wang Ruhu raised his hand and waved to the old man who was shouting behind him, squeezed into the crowd, walked out of Chinatown, and there were high-rise buildings outside. He followed the map to hike to the south of the city, and was familiar with the surrounding streets and buildings while walking. He borrowed pedestrians from time to time to avoid patrols or police talking to the streets.

It was not until noon that I arrived at the southern suburbs of the city. I could see the castle-style building complex surrounded by greenery from afar. Wang Ruhu jumped into the forest at a high place, looked at the map in his hand, and was convinced that this was the Chicago Private University. The Professor Harold mentioned that Professor Harris should teach here and his own laboratory.

‘On ordinary people who come to this kind of place will definitely not be able to enter. Since they already know the place, they will see it first and then come and look for it.’

Having made up his mind, Wang Ruhu dropped a leaf in his hand, went down the steep slope, quietly approaching the university in the distance, stepping gently on the soft soil, like a tiger patrolling the territory, walked around the surroundings, swept across the corners, and found out where there were cameras and other locations in his heart.

Soon, I returned to the woods and took a shortcut to the road leading to the city. I met a truck that was on the way, jumped to the rear of the car, climbed onto the roof, and took a ride.

After entering the city and returning to Chinatown, it was already dark.

The tea restaurant closed the door early, turned to the alley, and returned to the rented building. On the second floor, most of the women had already returned, busy cooking and smelling the fragrance. Wang Ruhu then heard that he had not even eaten lunch. When he touched his pocket, he suddenly grinned his teeth, as if he had no money.

‘I don’t know if it’s money to find Professor Harris…’

"Hey, have you had supper?"

Just as I was thinking, when I walked back to the third floor, the woman who had spoken to him before stood on the stairwell leading to the rooftop, holding a can of beer and a bag of snacks, looking at him with a smile.

"Do you want to have something together? I just happened to be in the mood to open the fire, so I bought beer and some food."

Wang Ruhu shook his head and turned around to the door of his own. As soon as his hand reached the door handle, a 'gulp~~' sound suddenly sounded in his stomach. The woman he heard there was holding the handrail of the stairs and smiling brightly.

"So big guy is hesitant, and he is afraid that I will eat you. If you want to eat, I will come up and treat you."

Do you want to go?

When Wang Ruhu thought of the lack of money in his pocket, he wanted to catch Harold and beat him up now. He let go of his hand holding the door handle, walked back unconsciously, climbed the steps, followed the woman to the rooftop.

"Don't worry about him, it's useless to not eat. At most, do her a favor in the future and treat it as a favor."

.........

"Ah Yeh!!"

At Chicago Airport, a figure walked out of the hall, sneezed, rubbed his nose, and shouted at the phone in his hand: "No need to call, I just got off the plane and contact me later."

The man hung up the call and walked out of the airport quickly with his suitcase.

‘Who scolded me behind my back just now?’
