Chapter 622 "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's Vow Sutra"

The old man couldn't help but smile when he saw Li Yi taking out a magnifying glass to watch:

"I also suspected that it might be a micro-dial, but... little brother, I thought you were just interested in this, but I didn't expect you to carry a magnifying glass with you. Are you in the antique industry?"

"Well, that's right, I work in a pawn shop."

While observing carefully with a magnifying glass and looking for possible clues as much as possible, Li Yi answered casually.

"Oh, no wonder, little brother, what aspect are you good at?"

"You know a little bit...Pat, Pat!"

Li Yi had just answered the old man's question, and suddenly raised his head and waved to Pat not far away.

"What's wrong?"

Luo Guofu was with Li Yi at the beginning, but he was taken away by Pat for a while to help greet the guests. When he heard Li Yi greet Pat, the guy ran over first.

"Nothing, I want to buy this set of balls. I wonder if there are any discounts for this price."

"It wasn't originally. This old man has been here many times and should be very clear. But if you want it, you'll be discounted 5,000 euros."

Pat first greeted the old man, and then said to Li Yi.

5,000 euros is more than 40,000 soft sister coins. Although the amount of concession is not much compared to a thing priced at 150,000 euros, the absolute value is also quite considerable. Therefore, the old man looked at Li Yi curiously. Is this young man Pat's friend?

"Oh no, Mr. Liu, if you just spent million euros in the store, I think I will give you this discount."

Mr. Liu suddenly realized, and silently watched Li Yi swipe the card and pay the bill and finished the procedure. He watched Pat and Luo Guofu leave with a joke, then he leaned into Li Yi's ear and asked whisperedly:

"Did you find the secret?"

Li Yi nodded with a smile. When he was observing the blank space with a magnifying glass, he did not find any traces of minor carving at the beginning. However, because the inner wall of the hollow ball was really thin, after careful observation, he could barely see a few very irregular stroke marks, but these traces were all in the opposite direction. In other words, there should be words engraved on this blank space, but the words were not engraved on the outer surface, but on the inside of the sphere!

With this discovery, he naturally used perspective. Sure enough, on this blank inner surface, hundreds of small words several times smaller than ants were engraved, so he called Pat over. No matter what it was engraved, it was serious to buy the thing first.

After all the procedures were completed, the ivory carving ball belonged to him, so Li Yi no longer had any taboos. He turned the ball to a suitable angle and looked in carefully through the magnifying glass.

"The Buddha told Bodhisattva Pu Guang: In the future, if there are good men and women who hear the name of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Mahasattva, or who hold hands together, praise, worship, and admire, it is a person who transcends the thirty kalpas."

"Pu Guang, if there are good men and women, painted and painted, or painted, or painted earth, stone, glue, gold, silver, copper and iron, to be used as this Bodhisattva. One look and one ritual will be born in the thirty-three days and will never fall into the evil path. If the blessings of heaven are exhausted, one will be born in the world and will still be a king without losing great benefits."

"Zi Hongli respectfully presents filial piety, sage, kindness, Xuan Kang Huidun and Cheng Huiren Mujing Tianguang Holy Xian Empress Dowager, in the 43rd year of Qianlong."

Li Yi gasped. This passage was excerpted from the "Sutra of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's Original Vows". The Buddha told Pu Guang Bodhisattva that in the future, if there were men who did good deeds, women who did good deeds, those who heard the name of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, or those who clasped their hands respectfully, praise, worship, and admire them, these people could surpass the sins of thirty kalpas.

If there are good men and women who use colors to draw images, or use earth, stone, glue, paint, gold, silver, copper, iron, etc. to create images of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, and look at them again and once a week, this person can be born one hundred times, and will never fall into the evil path. If he is born in the world because of the blessings of heaven, he can also be a king without losing such great benefits.

This set of balls was actually the offering used by Emperor Qianlong to offer his biological mother, Empress Dowager Chongqing in the second year of his death!

"The Sutra of the Original Vow of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva"? Is this the content of the micro-carving?"

Because of the spiritual appraisal card, Li Yi studied some Buddhism. Although he could not memorize several famous scriptures, he knew the general content. However, he didn't expect that the old man knew that this passage was taken from the "Ksitigarbha Sutra".

"Old man, this is indeed the content of micro-carving, and this micro-carving has great significance and great use. This advantage is really a big deal!"

"oh?"

When the old man heard this, he couldn't help but feel a little anxious, but now this thing already belongs to Li Yi, and it seems very precious to him, and he didn't know whether he should open his mouth and ask Li Yi to let him see the content of the micro-dial.

"It's okay, old man, put the ball on the table and turn on the lamp and see it more clearly."

Li Yi put the ball on the desk where the four treasures of the study were placed aside, and turned on the desk lamp. This lamp was originally intended to allow guests to see the collection more clearly, but it was also an antique from the Republic of China period.

"This is an excerpt from the sixth chapter of the "Sutra of Ksitigarbha Sutra" and the Tathagata's praise... My God is actually what Emperor Qianlong gave to the Empress Dowager. You really have a big advantage!"

Mr. Liu exclaimed, saying that he did not study much history. He did not know that Empress Dowager Chongqing died in the 42nd year of Qianlong's reign, but no one would understand the words "Qianglong" Guanxian Empress Dowager Qian.

"This is indeed a good baby..."

Li Yi laughed and carefully put the ball into the box. Although he spent a lot of money today, the things he bought were indeed pretty good. Fortunately, he actually got two treasures from the Qing Palace in a row, and one more precious than the other!

Old Liu looked at Li Yi handing the box to Gu Feng who was standing aside. He liked this ball set very much, but because of the price and inexplicable flaws, he watched it for more than 10 times in half a year but didn't make up his mind. Unexpectedly, Li Yi finally bought it in his hand, and found such a big secret. For a moment, he regretted, envious and other emotions surged into his heart, making him more and more itchy.

"Little brother, I'll discuss something with you. Can you transfer this ball to me?"

Seeing Li Yi shaking his head, Mr. Liu hurriedly said:

"I don't think you are a shortage of money either, but little brother, I have been in France for more than ten years and have been to all European countries, so I have collected a lot of good things, I'll exchange them for you!"

"Oh? Change it with me?"

"Well, I have all the blue and white Yuan Dynasty Doucai and Qing pastels. I also have ancient paintings from Tang Yin, Tang Bohu and Ma Yuan Maqin Mountain. They are all old collections of the Qing Palace. There are also appreciative seals from Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong. If you like them, you can choose them at will!"

Li Yi took a deep breath, but he didn't expect that the old man would have so many good things in his collection. It seems that he should really go around instead of worrying about what path he should take in the future every day. This is simply a waste of time and life!

After thinking about it, although the old man has these things, he seems to be leaving behind this rare ivory carving piece from the perspective of rich collection, but it should be nothing to go and see it, right? What if I can find one that is more worthy of collection?

"Okay, but... Mr. Liu, I've just arrived not long ago, and there are so many things in this store that I haven't had time to look at them carefully. Why don't you find a place to rest for a while?"

"That's fine, I'll talk about it after you finish reading!"

Seeing Mr. Liu walking to the rest area and sitting down, Li Yi walked back to the front of the ancient shelf, looked up and down for a while, then picked up a Xuande stove with a diameter of about 15 cm and looked at it.

Xuande Furnace is a copper incense burner designed and manufactured during the Xuande period of the Ming Dynasty. It is abbreviated as "Xuan Furnace". It is a treasure among the Ming Dynasty's handicrafts.

The successful casting of Xuande Furnace set a precedent for later copper furnaces. For a long period of history, Xuande Furnace even became the common name for copper incense burners.

According to records, a total of 3,000 fine copper incense burners made of red copper were produced in the three years of Xuande. Most of these incense burners were furnished in various places in the palace, and a small part was rewarded and distributed to royal relatives, famous ministers and various temples with large scale and high incense. But so far, no Xuande furnace that is recognized as truly produced in the third year of Xuande in the Ming Dynasty has been found in the Xuande furnace that has been passed down from generation to generation, so this matter has become a mystery.

In the third year of Xuande, the tribute of 3,000 red copper casting furnaces was originally published as "Xuande Yi Vessel Map". All subsequent records were basically from this book. Although this book was also included in the "Siku Quanshu", some experts now suspect that this book may be a fake in the late Ming Dynasty. The most direct evidence is that there is no record of the casting furnace in the third year of Xuande in the Ming Dynasty, and no so-called real Xuande furnace has been found so far.

This Xuande furnace is not a real Xuande furnace cast in the third year of Xuande, because the bottom of the instrument is "made by Wu Bangzuo in the fifth year of Xuande" in regular script.

Wu Bangzuo was a famous copper casting craftsman in Xuande period, and was the supervisor of smelting and casting Xuande furnaces. He was also the designer of furnace style, style and color. According to records, Wu Bangzuo cast a large number of bronze ware for the ancestral temple of the palace, and also sold "privately cast" copper ware. The signature of the bottom of this Xuande furnace shows that this is likely to be a copper ware privately cast by Wu Bangzuo.

However, even if Wu Bangzuo's private casting is true, it will definitely be a rare and good treasure. (To be continued.)
