Chapter 491 Temple Fair Bronze Bell

Two RVs, one in front and one behind, slowly drove towards Taoyuan along the country road.≯> ≧ ≦

Li Yi and the others deliberately did not go higher, just to visit the scenery of Taiwan. As a result, they saw a different scenery not long after entering Taoyuan.

Most of the Taoyuan is a continuous hilly platform, and its main geographical feature is the artificial pike ponds for irrigation in farmland.

When the Shimen Reservoir was just completed, the number of pitang ponds reached an astonishing 9 ooo. It is said that the highest peak was over 10,000, so it is called "Qiantang Township", and even created the unique "pitang culture" of Taoyuan!

From a literal perspective, "pi" refers to a low and humid place, and "pond" means a water pool, so pind is a pond. Many pindles in Taiwan were dug out by ancestors for their actual needs.

Li Yi and the others walked slowly along the way, with ponds of all sizes scattered by the roadside. From time to time, you can see light boats floating on them, and you can even see rowing boats in training!

"Now the use of pitang has undergone fundamental changes. Many have become fish farming ponds and leisure ponds. The most amazing thing is that some have even become feng shui ponds..."

6 Since Ningshuang is preparing to run across Taiwan Island, she naturally put in some effort in advance, so she walks along the way and explains it a bit like a professional tour guide.

Several people stayed on the dam of Shimen Reservoir for a while, then went to Longtan Shengji Pavilion for a walk, had a picnic, and drove on the road.

As we were walking, the car suddenly stopped.

"Brother Yi, it seems that there is something happening ahead. The road is broken and I can't get through."

After a while, the fat elephant ran over and knocked on the car window.

"Brother Yi, it seems that there is a temple fair. Some people say that there is a miracle in the pond of a family. Anyway, there are so many people. No vehicles are allowed to pass through the village within three days."

"Miracle? Take a look!"

It was a good idea to circle the car in the parking lot specially for the village. A group of four got out of the car and walked towards the village.

A long way from afar, Li Yi heard a noisy sound. In the sun, a cloud of green ashes rose above the entire village, and I don’t know how much incense it burned.

Walking into the village, Li Yixian said that this is a temple fair, and the reason why he chose to hold a temple fair at this time was entirely because of an accident, which is what they called a miracle.

It turned out that a month ago, the village chief's old father asked him a dream, saying that there was a Bodhisattva in their pitang to be born. As a result, after they cleared the water, they really dug out a golden statue of Guanyin from the mud at the bottom of the pond!

It is said that when the statue was dug out, not only did the mud not get stuck, but a rainbow appeared in the clear sky at that time. It lasted for two minutes. Then it was a strong wind and heavy rain poured down until the pond was filled, and the wind stopped and the rain stopped.

Afterwards, they asked experts to identify the Buddha sitting, saying it was an antique from thousands of years ago. The Feng Shui master also told them that a temple fair must be held and devout worship can make the Bodhisattva turn anger into joy and bless the whole village.

Time was chosen by the master. Today is the next day. After the rumor of the wind came out, not only were there people from nearby villages, but also Tainan even came to worship Buddha!

Several people looked at each other, Damn, what do you mean by this? Guanyin Bodhisattva was born in the statue, and the wind and rain were mixed together? That was the Dragon God?

Also, what is dug out of the mud is not stained? However, it is possible that the rainbow appears on sunny days. It is probably that rainbow that makes people regard this ordinary archaeological excavation work, or simply artificially fake things, as a miracle.

There are all kinds of small vendors on both sides of the road. In summer afternoons, with the dense crowds and waves of heat coming from time to time, after walking a few steps, several people were sweating profusely.

"How about going back, this is a temple fair, there is nothing to watch."

Li Yi looked at 6 Ningshuang and felt a little distressed when he saw the girl sweating profusely.

"It's okay, I'm just here to play. They said that the Buddha is worshipped in front of me. If you want to leave, at least you have to watch it before leaving!"

6 Ningshuang used a wet tissue to wipe the sweat from her face, and she was very excited.

Seeing her like this, Li Yi smiled slightly and just play if you want to play. Just be happy.

The temple fair starts from the road outside the village and then extends to the village. The square at the other end of the village is the focus, and it is said that the Bodhisattva is worshipped there.

The weather was so hot that a few people didn't have the time to wander around. Although it looked very different from the temple fair in Da6, it was nothing more than those things, but the form was different.

One person bought a fruit ice, and several people walked into the village.

It's even hotter here, and there's a lot of incense ash floating in the air, which should be floating in the square there.

When they were about to reach the village entrance, a few people felt that they had arrived at Flame Mountain. It seemed that they could see the twisted patterns in the air due to the steaming heat!

He looked at the believer who was holding the incense and candles beside him, who was also sweating profusely. The fat elephant shook his head, but the sweat scattered was like a dog scattering his body, causing 6 Ningshuang to be coquettish.

“It’s so fanatic…”

Soon, a few people saw the heat source, which was more than two or three meters high and covering an area of more than ten meters, and was burning with a large incense burning!

"How much fragrance does this have to be thrown!"

Not far from the incense pile, there is an exquisite shrine. Through the twisted air near the incense pile, you can see that there is a sitting Buddha about half a meter high. It looks like gold is visible, but it is impossible to see clearly whether it is Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Although there are several meters between the incense pile and the shrine, the space is even hotter as if it is a stove. Even the most devout believers probably wouldn't run to that place to worship.

Most people bowed far away from Li Yi and the others, then rushed up, threw the incense bunch of incense on the pile of incense and ran back quickly. Li Yi and the others saw that a few unlucky guys were touched by the sparks splashed from the pile of incense. As soon as they ran back, they kept jumping and slapped, which was very funny.

Not far from the incense pile were four fire trucks waiting for the battle. Because the incense pile was too close to the village, a strong wind could cause an uncontrollable fire. I don’t know what these people thought at the time.

"That was the place chosen by the master, and such a large incense pile must be used to help the Bodhisattva suppress the earthly energy. However, this temple fair can at least ensure the safety of the entire village for a hundred years, and it is worth taking risks."

Beside them was a fat man who was soaked all over, as if he had just caught from the water. When he saw them questioning, he explained.

"What's more, with the Bodhisattva here, how could it be that the village was burned?"

Li Yi smiled bitterly and nodded, and 6 Ningshuang began to look around.

"Let's go buy bundles of incense too. Anyway, I've come here. What if it's very effective?"

Li Yi opened his mouth and finally nodded speechlessly. Several people returned to the village, found a stall for incense and candles, and each of them bought a bouquet of incense threads.

"You have so many people, how can this be enough? At least you have to buy so many! Come on, you can buy more and give gifts now. They are all good things that have been sold out by monks, and you can't buy them with money!"

6 Ningshuang raised her eyebrows, what good thing?

The stall owner put his hands on it, and gave one bundle of incense to get one, just choose whatever you want!

Li Yi took a look and found that the stalls were all placed in front of the peace buckles, amulets, etc., which seemed to be no different from the ones that cost ten yuan in front of the temple gate, so he shook his head.

Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly saw 6 Ningshuang reach out and picking a small blue-black bronze bell from the upper corner of the stall, and gently swaying it, making a dull and seemingly tearing sound.

"Is this one also given?"

"Ah? This is the bronze bell that I suppressed the luck of the stall! It's not a gift!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the stall owner glanced at the few people.

"If you buy a bundle of them by one, I will give you this bronze bell!"

6 Ningshuang shook the bronze bell again. After listening to the sound, she was about to put it back, but Li Yi suddenly reached out to stop her.

"Take it over and let me see."

This bronze bell is about 10 cm high and has a diameter of about half the height. It is covered with the blue-black bronze oxidized. There are several dark green rust spots attached to several places, which looks very much like an old object.

On the body of the bronze bell, one side is a relief statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva, and the other side is an ancient Buddha character. The other two sides are engraved with the "Diamond Prajna Paramita Sutra". Although the font is small, the strokes are full of grand and dignity, and the majesty of Buddhism. And the most important thing is that from the perspective of writing and writing, it seems to have a bit of the shadow of the saint Wang Xizhi!

Above the bronze bell, there are two dragons playing with beads biting a ring-shaped nose buckle, and under it are engraved with cloud patterns.

At the opening of the bronze bell, there is a circle of flame patterns, and there are several strange patterns running through the middle of these patterns. I don’t know what it means.

After carefully looking at the shape of Guanyin's sitting statue and identifying the font, Li Yi guessed that this bronze bell was probably from the Jin Dynasty or the Southern and Northern Dynasties.

The exact date when Buddhism was introduced into China is still unknown, and there are many different opinions. The most widely said is that in the tenth year of Yongping in the Eastern Han Dynasty (67 AD), Emperor Ming of Han sent envoys to the Western Regions to seek Buddha statues and classics, and established the first official temple in Yangluo, White Horse Temple, which became the auspicious place for Chinese Buddhism.

Starting from the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Buddhism in China entered a stage of prosperity. During the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Buddhism was spread all over the country. According to records, during the Northern Wei Dynasty, there were 1,367 temples in Yangluo City at its peak, and there were more than 10,000 monks and nuns in Chang'an in the north, and hundreds of Buddhist temples in Jianye in the south!

If this bronze bell was really something from that time, it would definitely be a rare collection. What's more, although the sound is dull and seems to have cracks, the overall shape is intact and there is not much copper rust, which makes it even more precious.

After the identification, Li Yi turned on the spirit-appearing card, and a cold air poured in. Then, he widened his eyes, and even the sweat from his eyebrows dripped into his eyes. What is the origin of this bronze bell?

ps: On the first day of work after the holiday, if you can’t get up at 3 o’clock, you’ll make up tomorrow.
