Chapter 8 The Evidence of Disappearance
Everyone arrived at her doorstep under Haru Kimura. "Mr. Maori, this is my home." Kimura said, taking out the keys to open the door. "Li Ren usually only comes back on weekends in the student dormitory."
"Ka." The door lock was opened. Rin followed Xiaolan and entered the dim room. Since the curtains were tightly pulled up, the already faint street lights could not be shined into the room at all. Kimura Haru turned on the lights and the room immediately became bright. Rin's eyes were a little uncomfortable with this sudden change.
Haru Kimura walked to the window and said to Uncle Maori: "Mr. Maori, it's almost at this time every day that figure will appear opposite each other. Please come and take a look."
"Ah, OK." Uncle Maori just sat down and had to stand up again and walk to the window.
Kimura opened the curtains and immediately said excitedly: "Look, I'm talking about that person...ah!"
Just as Kimura was trying to point it to Uncle Maori, a huge object fell quickly from outside the window, and swept through Kimura's face, which scared her.
"That's it!" Uncle Maori and Conan immediately realized what the thing was, and then they quickly opened the window, poked their heads out and looked down. Although the lights were very dim, they all saw clearly what the thing that fell to the ground was.
Uncle Maori immediately turned around and said quickly: "Call an ambulance and a police car quickly. The one who fell just now is a human."
"What!" Everyone was shocked. Rin turned his head when she heard Kimura's scream, so she was not very clear about what had happened. However, after hearing Uncle Maori's words, she immediately realized that another murder had happened. So she immediately left the room and planned to go downstairs to see what had happened.
Conan looked around the window for a while, but because it was too dark, he couldn't see clearly what was suspicious. At this time, the figure on the roof of the building opposite had disappeared. So Conan also left the windowsill and ran downstairs quickly.
Rin hurried to the crime scene alone and found that there was indeed a person with unknown life and death lying on the ground, with obvious blood on the floor next to his head. "Vomit." The first time Rin saw such a terrifying scene, he felt a little nauseous.
"angst, schutzwand(fear, shield)" Rin silently recited a spell. A trace of magic power flowed through the magic circuit on the left arm. The non-existent sound of "click" sounded in his mind, as if he really closed a door in his mind. The trembling of his body stopped, and the desire to retching disappeared. Rin could now look at the person who was lying on the ground calmly.
The person on the ground was probably a middle-aged man with his face facing upwards and a lot of blood flowing out of the back of his head. He must have been dead. He was a little fat, but it was not obvious. His face did not have a very fear or excitement. His clothes were also very clean and there was no sign of fighting.
This area is not very prosperous, and it is even more quiet at night. From Rin running to the street to now, there is no passerby passing by.
"Da da da da da." The footsteps sounded, and Conan ran down. Conan seemed to be very familiar with this scene. He walked carefully to the side of the corpse without stepping on the blood. He put his hand on the neck of the corpse, pressed it for a moment, and then said unwillingly: "Die."
"There are no signs of fighting in the corpse, and since I came down just now, no one has touched the corpse. No, it should be said that there is not even a person passing by." Rin said.
"Yeah." Conan nodded, then turned on the flashlight of the watch and shone the ground around him.
Rin asked curiously: "What are you looking for?"
"How could it not be?" Conan said to himself first, and then answered Rin's question. "I just saw something falling down with the corpse, but it seemed to be nothing."
Suddenly, Conan's light swept across the junction of the sidewalk and the expressway across the street. Rin found strange traces and ran over quickly. "Hey, Conan. There are traces of something being dragged here." Rin turned around and said to Conan who was still looking for it.
"What?" Conan looked surprised. He ran over, then carefully checked the traces there and said: "Indeed, it looks like a trace of a hard object like metal being dragged. Judging from the thickness of the traces, it should be something with edges or spherical shapes."
'But it's so strange.' Conan looked back at the location of the corpse, then glanced at Rin, who was looking for new traces around, and thought in confusion, 'This place is at least ten meters away from the place where the corpse is. My light just now just now was just scanning. How could that guy find such faint traces?'
Rin did not realize anything abnormal in his actions. He was a heroic spirit-level existence now. Of course, his ability was far beyond the scope of ordinary people's understanding, and it was not surprising. "There are also here." Rin discovered new traces. This time, in the middle of the road, a faint white dragging trace.
"Hey! I said you both left the scene, don't destroy the evidence!" Uncle Maori finally arrived late, followed by Xiaolan, who was a little hesitant and dared not move forward.
Rin continued to look at the scene, and then left calmly. Rin did not remind Conan, who was in deep thought, but watched Uncle Maori approach him step by step with a look of good looks on the side of the road.
‘At this time, you should count down to feel the same. 4, 3, 2, 1, ah!’ Rin stood gracefully beside him, waiting for Conan’s scream.
However, things always happened. Rin did not hear the screams at the first time. "Bang!" Conan had just finished thinking and raised his head, and hit Uncle Maori's chin. Uncle Maori, who was about to teach Conan a lesson, gorgeously tried to bite his tongue and commit suicide.
Uncle Maori covered his chin, while Conan covered his head. Both of them looked at each other with an unhappy look. "Bang! Bang! Bang!" Uncle Maori's anger was completely vented and he went to observe the corpse alone. Conan stayed in place, coplaying the gourd baby with a bitter look on his face.
Ten minutes later, the Japanese police arrived. (Rin: "It's so fast and efficient. Sure enough, do you have to rely on this method to show your face as a supporting role?") The scene was blocked, and all kinds of people began to work hard. Rin stood next to Conan, waiting calmly. 'Anyway, as long as you are by Conan, you won't be afraid of missing any clues.' Rin thought so.
Sure enough, more than ten minutes later, Officer Meguru walked to Uncle Maori and looked at him with a look at the disaster star: "It seems that our police will have permanent staff next time, Brother Maori, the God of Death."
"Ah, haha..." Uncle Maori also smiled helplessly, and then asked seriously, "What is the result of the preliminary identification, Officer Meguri?"
Officer Meguri seemed to have lost interest in continuing to joke and became serious: "The initial result was that he fell from the fifth floor and died on the spot after falling from the back of his head. It is not certain whether he was a killer, but it seems that suicide is the most likely to be committed. In addition, no traces of fighting were found in the deceased's home, and no suicide notes were found in the deceased's relics."
"Officer Meguro, have you found any strange metal balls or things nearby?" Rin couldn't help but ask.
Officer Meguchi turned his head and asked in a little puzzled manner: "Have we seen it before, it looks so familiar."
"The coercion incident in the arena..." Before Rin finished speaking, Officer Megu immediately realized: "Oh, it's the girl who was pulled out by Conan. That, you just asked the strange metal ball? There is no such thing nearby."
"Is that so? Maybe I'm suspicious." Rin fell into deep thought again after saying that. 'No, Conan can't read it wrong. There must be that kind of thing. But where will it go? Could it be...'
Rin looked up at the top of the building opposite. Today was a new moon, without the moonlight, and the top, which was only six stories high, was completely dissolved into the night sky.
