336, John the Baptist

Half a year later, the dusty Joseph returned to his hometown Bethlehem. The Salem Plain is no longer as desolate as it was four hundred years ago. Bethlehem is a small city-state south of the Selangor City, and appeared about three hundred years ago. The flood caused the landslide in the Youdi River Valley. A tributary of the Youdi River was cut off and diverted through the Duke Plain, flowing into the Syrian desert to form an inland lake. This river was later turned into the Yedan River. The Yedan River irrigated the fields on the plain, and Joseph's hometown was on the same side of Yedan.

After a long trip, Joseph was obviously darker than before, his body became stronger, his skin showed the luster of bronze, and he had a beard like other adult men. Of course, his parents were very happy to see his son coming back when he was traveling far away. At the age of Joseph, it was time to arrange to marry his wife. His parents were already giving him a suitable marriage partner, but Joseph shook his head and said, "Don't worry, I have my own plans."

His parents thought that he didn't even like the girl he introduced, so he had to give up for the time being. However, he knew that what Joseph was thinking was completely different. He took the cane given by the Arro River to India, and was lucky enough to find the sage Vincentbu, and asked many questions, which was very inspired. But he refused Vincentbu's invitation and did not become a monk who believed in infinite light, because he had shouldered the mission given by God.

In India, Joshua also examined various local traditional religious beliefs and witnessed conflicts and disputes between various sects, and had his own thoughts on many issues. Although he did not find a way to transcend eternal life, or he regretfully rejected another guidance, his mood became clearer and clearer.

The warrior named Xiaoye once taught him the martial arts skills of getting started. On the way, Joseph used that magical cane to practice the traditional miner skills of removing the cold people. The cane is much more useful than the best mine hammer in the world. This is the skill that Joseph is best at present. In fact, he himself is not clear. After returning to his hometown, if he retreats for hundreds of years, he can be regarded as the best craftsman in Duke Town.

When Joshua returned to his hometown, he seemed to have become deeper and his eyes seemed very deep. He always seemed to be thinking about something in a daze, and often came to the river alone to hold a staff in his hand to meditate. On that day, he saw a group of people walking upstream by the river, and heard their conversation, and was slightly surprised.

Just as Josu left his hometown, an ascetic came to the bank of the Yedan River. He told people about the meaning of the Bible and used the water of the Yedan River to touch people. It symbolized God's blessing, and after purifying the body and mind, a new beginning was called baptism. Many people gathered around him, received his baptism, and listened to his preaching every day.

It is said that this man came from Selang City, a great accomplished man with the power given by God. He claimed that he was waiting for a person to appear, the Messiah in the prophecy of Ilya. When he heard this news, he picked up his cane and walked upstream.

In the wilderness of the Yedan River, a man stood by the water, wearing clothes made of roulette wool, with a belt around his waist, his hair and beard had not been trimmed for a long time, but it was combed neatly and cleanly. This man was preaching to the people in front of him in a loud voice: "Listen, the Kingdom of God will be presented to everyone, and be prepared for it and embark on that path guided by the glory."

One of the listeners asked, "What preparations do we need to make? The Lengren is a nation that has made a covenant with God and a chosen people of God on earth. Isn't the new kingdom just for the entire Lengren?"

The man shook his head and said, "What a childish idea. God will not favor someone more for no reason, nor will he give up his believers for no reason. God has blessed the Lengren, but it does not mean that the Lengren should be continued to favor God. Cleansing the spirits and staying away from sin is not to please God, but people should do so."

At this time, Joseph had already come closer and was stunned when he saw the preacher because they had known each other for a long time.

The man's name is John. John's father was a priest on duty in the Aroth Temple in Selang City. He had always enjoyed a noble reputation and was said to be a great master, but he did not have such a son until his later years.

John's mother was the distant cousin of Joshua's mother. He was also Joshua's cousin, but the family gap was very big. One was the heir of the priest and the other was just the son of a carpenter.

John should have inherited his father's priesthood in the retreat city. How could he go to the countryside to baptize people?

When John saw Joseph holding a cane, he felt indescribable joy. He stood up and left everyone strode forward, spread his arms and said, "My cousin, I can't describe my mood. It turns out that it is you... you have returned from a long journey!"

John was about to salute, but John hugged him. He asked in confusion: "My cousin, you did not inherit the priesthood in the Lengcheng, but came here? I heard that a monk held a baptism ceremony for people to purify their body and mind, and rushed over here, but he didn't expect it was you!"

John let go of his arms, still grasping Joseph's arm and said, "Did you come to me specifically?"

John nodded and said, “Yes, I want to ask you to baptize me.”

John let go of his hand and took a step back, looked into his eyes and said, "I baptize people by the river, which is just a ritual symbolizing the purification of the soul, so that people can be further away from sin and closer to the gods. And you have never turned against the gods, your heart and eyes are so pure, there is no need to let me baptize."

Joseph bowed, leaning on his cane and said in a pleading tone: "I firmly believe that this is God's arrangement and requires a form to express my faith."

John finally nodded and said, "Okay, when there is no one else, I will hold a baptism for you alone."

After the sun set, John sent his disciples to leave. The two cousins lit a bonfire by the river to tell them about their experiences over the years. He was afraid that John would tell Jesus that he had awakened the power of his origin by the priest's father. One day, while meditating at night, he heard the voice of an angel. The voice told him to resign from the priest's clergy, go to the wilderness by the Jedan River to practice hard, and welcome the prophetic Messiah.

John then left Selang City and came here, and insisted on practicing hard every day in the wind and sun. He fed with wild fruits in the bushes, grasshoppers on the grassland, mi brewed by wild bees, and fish in the river, and made great achievements here. The voice of the angel told him to spread God's guidance to the world.

So everyone he had seen in secret awakened the power of the original source for people through baptism.

John baptized people as both a symbol and a true ritual. He did not try to awaken power for everyone, but chose only those who truly understand the beliefs he preached.

Joshua asked curiously: "Why did you think of baptism?"

John replied, "The angels told me how to awaken the power of the origin for people, and I have achieved great success. This is a river valley in the wild, not a temple in the cold city. Accepting this baptism does not mean meritorious status or to please God, but people spontaneously accept the guidance of the Arrow, so I have never said it clearly.

My inspiration also comes from historical legends. More than 300 years ago, a sage on the Heaton Peninsula was named Pythagoras. He built a manor outside Delphi, teaching all kinds of knowledge to teach people how to view the world. When entering that manor, a ceremony was held, called "Purification of the Mind", which also contained the guidance of the original power. I was inspired by this, dipping water on people, symbolizing the cleaning of the body and mind, and awakening the power, and also holding rituals."

John asked again, "Which angel did you hear the voice?" As he spoke, he used his cane to pluck the dry firewood burning in the bonfire, and the cane that looked like it was cut from ordinary branches was not damaged at all.

John stood up and replied, "What I heard was Moses' voice. He told me to come here to wait for someone, the Messiah in Elya's prophetic prophecy. When this man appears, he will take the cane that Moses used when he led his tribesmen back to his hometown. The person who came turned out to be you, my cousin, Joh Jesus, which surprised and delighted me!,.

As he spoke, he had already bent down and bowed to Journey to him. Journey quickly put down his cane and helped him up: "My cousin, don't salute me like this, I am here to ask you to baptize me."

John brought John to the riverside, dipped his scarf into the clear water from the Jedan River, poured it on Joseph's hair and forehead, and silently spoke blessing words in his mouth.

At this time, he saw the light, as if the stars gathered in the sky, turning into doves spreading its wings and falling on Joseph.

Joshua stood by the river with a staff in his hand, and a round of light appeared behind his head, as if he was experiencing something in a divine way. When he came to his senses, the light would be indifferent.

It was such a simple ritual that Joshua was awakened to the power of his origin, because he had practiced the miners' skills in Duke Town, and he had this foundation. John did not need to teach Joshua anything else. He just accepted the guidance of the angels and completed the ceremony for Joshua in an unstriving way.

The angels were also disciples of Ah Méng. The power they practiced was taught by Ah Méng, so they were not sure how Joseph should practice in the world. If they intervened too much, they might have an unknown impact on his proof.
